This year The Block is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
However many fans believe the show has ‘run its course’ and are calling for Nine ratings juggernaut to be axed.
Viewers took to social media to slam the hit after rumours emerged earlier this week that the home renovation show was facing cancellation.
However, a Nine spokesperson told the Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday that The Block was not under any threat of being canned.
‘Despite the speculation, The Block is not being cancelled,’ they insisted.

Despite these claims, fans are insisting that the show has already exhausted its appeal.
They also slammed edits for focusing too much on ‘in-fighting’ between the Blockheads.
‘It’s run its course I’m afraid,’ said one Facebook user.
They continued: ‘Things always have an expiry date.’

‘About time,’ another agreed.
‘It’s run its course,’ said one fan who went on: ‘Overrated, overpriced houses that [an] ordinary working person cannot afford.’
‘This the best news,’ gloated another arm chair critic, adding:
‘I hate The Block. It should have ended years ago.’

Another former fan aimed their anger at the show’s producers for losing touch with the audience.
‘Producers’ fault, became way too personality based,’ they wrote on Facebook.
‘Terrible, disrespectful attitudes and egos, stopped watching when it wasn’t about renovating anymore. Sad was my favourite [show] years ago.’

Meanwhile, one devoted fan was prepared to defend the show and dismissed the fan-fuelled rumour that the show was facing the axe.
‘Wow, so much hate for the show,’ they shared on Facebook.
‘If you don’t like it, don’t watch. Don’t have to call it to be axed. There’s an audience for everything.’
Fans urging for The Block to be axed appear to be responding to the controversial 2023 season that was branded by viewers as ‘toxic’ and ‘disturbing’ thanks to the constant squabbles and bullying among the Blockheads.
They continued: ‘I don’t like Married at First Sight, but I’m not calling for it to be axed to suit myself.
‘The Block has an audience, and despite the increasing ”drama” that’s been injected into each season, I still like watching series.’

Realestate.com.au reported on Monday that rumours about The Block’s longevity started after judge Neale Whitaker announced he was quitting the show earlier this month, leaving the cast devastated.
Neale confirmed he will no longer be a regular on the hit. He took on a limited role as a judge last year to support his partner, David, as he faced serious health challenges.
The fan favourite is however expected to make guest appearances on the upcoming season alongside judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and newcomer Marty Fox.
The acclaimed interior designer’s exit comes after Keith Schleiger, aka Foreman Keith, confirmed his role would be scaled back to a guest part on the new series.
The reality star, 50, revealed he made the difficult decision after deciding the long commute times to Philip Island to film would keep him away from his two daughters.
And the show suffered yet another set back only weeks into filming as a couple of contestants quit.
