After Colin Jost made his debut as the host of Amazon Prime Video’s new spinoff, Pop Culture Jeopardy!, fans have opinions to share.
While many of them are praising the new reiteration of the long-running, syndicated show, there appears to be a general consensus about Jost’s new role as a Jeopardy! host.
They’re all saying the same thing about the 42-year-old comedian — that he looks like he doesn’t want to be there.
One social media user tweeted on X, formerly Twitter, and questioned: ‘Did Colin Jost wanna do Pop Culture Jeopardy! or did they make him do it?’
Many concurred while they shared their surprised reactions to the Saturday Night Live star — who gave a glimpse into married life with Scarlett Johansson and made rare comments about their family — as the host of the spinoff.

Another X user shared that they were ‘watching Pop Culture Jeopardy! and Colin Jost is charming me because his energy is “man who wants to blow his brains out.”‘
Other fans of the show also tweeted their thoughts about the show — which releases three episodes for streaming every Wednesday on Amazon Prime Video.
Pop Culture Jeopardy! debuted on Wednesday, December 4 with the first three episodes with Jost as the host.
Each episode featured three trios as they competed on the iconic Alex Trebek set for the first streaming-only version of the show.
However, many criticized the show for how much it differed from the original format and the rules varying from the normal tournament.
Many fans opined that Jost added too much filler in every single round and said his jokes often did not land.
‘Haven’t watched Pop Culture Jeopardy! yet, but just learned it’s basically re-skinned World Series of Pop Culture and now I’m even more annoyed they have Colin Jost hosting, instead of bringing back [Pat Kiernan].’
‘Some people might say Pop Culture Jeopardy! is easier than regular Jeopardy, but regular Jeopardy contestants don’t have to pretend to laugh at Colin Jost’s jokes,’ another tweeted.

Others found his personality endearing and tweeted that they wanted more of Jost.
‘Last night I stumbled upon Pop Culture Jeopardy! I am so excited to burn through this. Hosted by Colin Jost.’
Another X user wrote that they stopped watching Jeopardy! as they were not a fan of host Ken Jennings and now want Jost to take his place.
‘Enjoyed the first two episodes of Pop Culture Jeopardy!, in spite of a sad total of 4 correct answers because of Colin Jost. Make him host of regular Jeopardy! and I’d be tuning in every night, just as I did with Alex Trebek.’
‘I love me some Jeopardy! and now there’s a Pop Culture Jeopardy, hosted by Colin Jost? Yeah I’m watching,’ one X user wrote.

Meanwhile, critics have also called out how the new spinoff tweaked the tried and true format of Jeopardy! so much that it is not as enjoyable.
The spinoff has the Jeopardy!, Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy! rounds just like on the original show.
However, there is now the addition of Triple Plays to Daily Double squares.
Each team member can answer part of a question and there are opportunities for other teams to steal the clue if the first team gets any part of their answer wrong.
Some diehard fans of the original show said the first teams of contestants were too confused during the categories.
Fans expressed that it was less enjoyable when they couldn’t watch their favorite contestants succeed and watched the teams frequently miss Jost’s clues.
