But for their latest guest appearance, EastEnders has planned a very brief visit from multi-award-winning singer and actor, Olly Alexander.
And ahead of his highly-anticipated Eurovision Song Contestant appearance, the Valentino artist is expected to get stuck in an engagement twist for a pair of Walford lovebirds.
During his soap appearance, Olly, 33, will reconnect with his old friend Johnny Carter and has spent his time rehearsing in London.
The LGBT activist has received a warm welcome since arriving on set, as he was subject to a hero’s welcome by well-wishers in Walford ahead of his upcoming performance in the international competition.

But, in typical EastEnders style, Olly’s catch up with the Walford residents is not going to be plain sailing.
One square local will decide to pop the question, having been encouraged by the celebratory tone of the occasion.
However, the couple in question and the all-important answer is still to be revealed.
Discussing his guest role, Olly said: ‘I’m thrilled to be making my first appearance on EastEnders and in the most iconic pub in the UK.
‘I’m so happy I got to meet some true screen legends and spend time on set with the brilliant cast and crew.
‘I wanted to surprise my mum as it’s her favourite show but I guess the cat is out of the bag now, she’s gonna love it!’
Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer added: ‘When we discovered that Olly Alexander was a huge fan of the show and an opportunity arose in one of our stories, it was the perfect moment for us to invite him to Albert Square to appear.
‘We hope the audience enjoy Olly’s special guest-appearance as much as everyone at EastEnders enjoyed having him in Walford.’

In February, Olly confirmed the title of his Eurovision track to be Dizzy, sharing a clip of him singing the song on social media before its official release.
Years and Years lead singer and It’s A Sin actor, shared a clip to Twitter singing a few lines of the catchy song to get fans excited.
He wore a stylish grey waistcoat and skirt as he belted out the electronic pop hit on a rooftop as Eurovision fanatics branded it an ‘instant banger’.
Olly wrote in the caption: ‘hello ! here’s the first tease of my @eurovision song ‘dizzy’ !! oh I’m so excited !!!! i love you !!’
Scott Mills replied saying: ‘YAAAAAAS! here we gooooo!’, while Eurovision host Rylan Clark said: ‘So proud!’
‘This is SOOOO @eurovision @alexander_olly and you are so flipping HOT… you’re going to win boy. Bring it home for mumma.’
‘We knew it was going to be a banger. Sounds early 2000s.’
‘Ok, now I AM DIZZY! I love it, love it, love it! xx.’
Eurovision is taking place in May following Swedish singer Loreen securing victory at last year’s show in Liverpool, which brought Sweden’s total wins to seven, tying the country with Ireland.

In May 2023, the UK came second last with London singer Mae Muller after it took on hosting the ceremony after Ukraine was unable due to the conflict.
This year Olly will be the British entrant, with hopes high after the glimpse at the song was revealed.
The Eurovision Song Contest will have the first semi-final on May 7 and the second semi-final on May 9.
The grand final is on May 11.
