Fairuza Balk looked nearly unrecognizable as she debuted her new career after rising to fame as a child star in 90s cult classic films.  

The actress, who got her start in the dark children’s film Return To Oz and is perhaps best known for her role in The Craft, took to social media earlier this month to update her fans.

Balk, now 51, shared a stunning, sunlit selfie on September 12, just days after she revealed she ditched Hollywood to become a jewelry designer. 

She said that her journey began when father started teaching her jewelry making and welding when the COVID-19 pandemic began in late 2019 and early 2020.

The actress said she was ‘in love’ and showed off a turquoise and sterling silver pendant she made recently.

And addressing her her 233,000 Instagram followers, the former Disney child star also shared her website, where she started selling T-shirts and merchandise with her own artwork on them.

She has been sharing her journey of learning how to be a metalworker and showing off the rings as well as bracelets she has been working on making. 

In addition to being a jewelry maker, Balk also has her own band and is the lead singer of Armed Love Militia. 

In recent years, she has been selling graphics of herself from her most notable roles including as her character in The Craft. 

She has also been dabbling in making music and making Cameos, according to her social media posts in the last three years.

She is most famous for having starred alongside Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell and Rachel True in the teen cult classic movie. 

In The Craft, Balk played the antagonist, Nancy Downs, who was a troubled girl who practiced witchcraft to try and improve her life. 

Together, the four high school misfits form their own coven with Nancy as the troubled teen who spirals into insanity.

The multi-talented artist has also continued to keep up with her acting career over the years.

In 2000, she starred in Almost Famous as Sapphire, a role that earned her a Screen Actors Guild nomination. 

She has also lent her voice to iconic animated shows like Family Guy and Justice League. 

She appeared in Hell Is Where the Home Is in 2018 and made a cameo appearance in the 2020 spinoff The Craft: Legacy, reprising her role as Nancy Downs. 

She was once the owner of the occult shop, previously called Panpipes Magickal Marketplace, where she researched to prepare for the movie but sold the store in 2001.

In addition to her claim to fame in The Craft, she is also known for her first pivotal role and playing the leading role of Dorothy in the 1985 movie Return to Oz at just age 11. 

The film was a sequel to The Wizard of Oz. 

After her role in the film, she went on to star in The Worst Witch, which was released the following year.
