Explosive secret fight between Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet at Golden Globes. Lip reader deciphers argument they tried to hide behind smiles: ‘You must hate me’

Up on stage to collect his Best Actor award at the Critics Choice Awards last Sunday, Timothee Chalamet gushed over his reality star girlfriend Kylie Jenner.

‘Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for your foundation, I love you,’ he boldly declared. ‘I couldn’t do this without you.’

Jenner, 28, appeared almost moved to tears.

What a difference a week makes.

On his feet again to accept the Best Acting award for his lead role in Marty Supreme at the Golden Globes this weekend, 30-year-old Chalamet seemed almost in a rush as abruptly closed out his speech, saying: ‘To my parents and partner, I love you. Thank you so much.’

Some had already thought it odd that the French-speaking actor walked the red carpet alone at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles – and without a glittering Jenner, who was left to show off her stunning gold sequin dress on Instagram earlier in the evening.

But even fewer noticed what appears to have been a tense, off-camera interaction between the couple.

Finally united inside the venue at their table, and as they took their seats with fellow celebrity guests before the ceremony got underway, snatched footage reveals a seemingly fierce exchange – no matter how much they tried to mask their tense words behind smiles.

Now, lipreader Nicola Hickling has exclusively deciphered those words for the Daily Mail.

At the start of the alleged argument, Hickling claims, Chalamet can be seen leaning in toward Jenner and telling her: ‘You must hate me.’

Jenner is all smiles but replies, ‘Yes,’ before the actor asks in her ear, ‘Were you worried?’

Jenner then allegedly answers, ‘It was a bold yes.’

At this point, her smile begins to fade, as Chalamet moves to take his seat and says, ‘You look bothered.’

Hickling claims the Kylie Cosmetics founder then tells her boyfriend, ‘Not here. You’re annoying.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Jenner and Chalamet for comment.

The Hollywood night was another big win for Chalamet, whose new ping-pong drama Marty Supreme is making a cinema splash.

Accepting the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, Chalamet reserved his most effusive words for his director, Josh Safdie.

‘Thank you for this role. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for this portrait, for your mind, for your world view,’ he said.

Jenner and Chalamet’s appearance at the Golden Globes on Sunday marks their third at the annual awards event as a couple.

The notoriously private pair were first linked back in early 2023 – after being spotted happily chatting at a show during Paris Fashion Week.

Ever since, it’s been passionate kisses at Beyoncé concerts, holding hands on the red carpet and even, last month, lurid matching orange-leather ensembles at the LA premiere of Marty Supreme.

But there have also been the unavoidable problems.

Most notable was Chalamet’s apparent refusal – until last weekend – to ever discuss the relationship in public.

For a December 2025 cover interview with Vogue, he bluntly told the magazine: ‘I just don’t have anything to say.’

As far back as last October, the Daily Mail exclusively reported that opposing views on marriage and children had allegedly driven a wedge between the couple.

At the time, a source said Chalamet was ‘on the brink of calling it quits’ because his ‘career is skyrocketing and the last thing he wants right now is to be a father.’

News followed in November that he had ‘broken up with Kylie’ – who has two children with rapper Travis Scott – before reports the following month that they were ‘back on’.

‘They cool down and they heat up,’ an insider told the Daily Mail at the time.
