Evelyn Lozada revealed that she had ended her engagement to LaVon Lewis during an interview with Us Weekly that was published on Thursday.
The 47-year-old reality television star and the 42-year-old entrepreneur became engaged in December of last year after they appeared on the dating series Queen’s Court, which premiered on Peacock this past March.
The Basketball Wives star, who was briefly linked to Marc Anthony, has since opened up about the end of her relationship, which she partially attributed to the short length of their dating period.
‘Things went so fast. Six months later we were engaged, and I just felt a little bit of a disconnect. And the distance he lives in Atlanta, that was another thing that was really, really difficult,’ she said.
Lozada also stated that Lewis’ family life and their commitment to exploring their romance in front of the cameras became issues.

She said: ‘He has a son that is, I believe, in his first year of high school or going to high school. It was a lot of moving parts and it just started becoming difficult, and I was just like, “I don’t want to keep this going just for the world.”‘
The entrepreneur then remarked that she felt unable to establish a strong connection to Lewis while working on Queen’s Court.
‘You’re asking 1,000,001 questions when you’re dating these different guys on the show. And we tried to spend as much time as we could. He would travel here to L.A. at least once a month,’ she said.
Lozada stated that her amicable split was ultimately ‘the right thing to do’ and that she felt ‘happy that we’re able to just be mature and friends.’
She also stated her desire for Lewis to find ‘an amazing woman. I’ll be at his wedding. He is a great person. I’m just happy that he’s not bitter or we’re not in a negative space. I feel like all breakups don’t have to end up like that.’
Lozada went on to speak about her past marriage to Chad Johnson, which lasted for just over two months in 2012.
The reality television personality ended her relationship with the former football player after he was arrested on a charge of domestic battery, to which he ultimately pled no contest.
The entrepreneur also discussed how Johnson’s behavior had impacted her view of relationships in the years since their separation.

‘I feel like it’s deep-rooted. I feel, like, definitely connected to that incident, that marriage, which I’ve done therapy for. But now, it’s kind of like I’m digging this back up, the whole wedding. And that was hard. It was a difficult time for me.
