Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Clears Instagram Amid Legal Woes

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs wiped clean his entire Instagram page earlier on Thursday amid the disgraced star’s legal troubles and sexual assault lawsuits.

The Coming Home rapper, 54 – who recently received Father’s Day tributes from his children – took down all photos and clips on his account, including the Cassie apology video that was shared last month in May.

However, sources told TMZ on Friday that the latest move was not ‘strategic’ nor was it a swipe against his ex, Cassie.

According to the insiders, Diddy made the choice to clear the page in order to simply ‘reset’ his posts – which is something that he has previously done in the past.

In regards to the apology clip, the sources explained that after he initially uploaded the reel, the video is now permanently out there on the internet, even after taking it down on his own account.

The sources further told TMZ that Diddy was sincere with his apology after the Cassie assault video came to light last month in May.

Clearing his Instagram page was not a strategic move by the disgraced rapper or his team, and instead was a spur of the moment choice, it was also claimed.

Combs currently has 19.9 million followers – a huge drop from the 45.6 million social media followers he had back in April.

The action to delete all posts comes shortly after Diddy received Father’s Day tributes from his children on Instagram in celebration of the holiday last weekend.

The record producer – who recently returned his ceremonial key to New York City at Mayor Eric Adams’ request – opted to not post on social media, but most of his kids shared messages to their father.

His son Justin, 30 – whom he shares with Misa Hylton – took to his Instagram stories to share throwback photos of himself with the Coming Home rapper.

‘Happy Father’s Day pops,’ he wrote in text added towards the bottom of one image as the pair posed for a picture together.

Another picture was taken as a young Justin was propped up on Diddy’s right shoulder while wearing football gear.

Lastly, Justin shared a throwback clip while he appeared to be on set with his father and at one point, Sean affectionately rubbed his hand on his son’s head in between filming.

His daughter, Chance, 18 – whom he shares with Sarah Chapman – also jumped to her own Instagram stories.

She uploaded a black and white photo as she lounged with her dad while on a boat and typed out, ‘happy father’s day! i love you endlessly.’

His twins, Jessie and D’Lila also posted on their joint account and uploaded a throwback picture while posing with Diddy and their siblings.

‘Happy fathers day to the best dad in the worldddddddd. We love u so much,’ they penned at the bottom.

His son Christian ‘King’ Combs, 26, shared a post on his main Instagram page and also included a carousel of photos from the past, including one when he was a baby and sat on his father’s lap in a black and white snap.

Another was taken when he was a toddler and could be seen wearing floaties on his arms during a pool day while Diddy watched nearby.

Christian additionally uploaded a picture as the two posed on the red carpet together, and lastly shared an image as they showed off their arm muscles while looking in a mirror.

Diddy shares Christian as well as twins Jessie and D’Lila with Kim Porter who passed away in 2018 following a battle with pneumonia. He also adopted her son, Quincy, 33, during the course of their relationship.

The star is also father to daughter, Love, one – whom he welcomed with Dana Tran in October 2022.

The rapper has been embroiled in legal troubles and sexual assault lawsuits, with a video recently obtained by CNN showing footage of him beating singer, Cassie, inside the InterContinental Hotel.

Earlier this week, Diddy recently returned his ceremonial key to New York City that he was awarded last year by Mayor Eric Adams.

It came after the Mayor sent the embattled rapper a letter on June 4, requesting the honor back, following backlash over footage of the disgraced rapper assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

Diddy broke his silence after the shocking video of him beating up his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura surfaced.

The rapper took to Instagram to apologize, saying: ‘I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. So difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you got to do that. I was f***ed up.’

‘I mean I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses, my behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I’m disgusted.’

‘I was disgusted then when I did it, I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, I got into going to therapy, going to rehab,’ he added.

‘Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I am committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness, I’m truly sorry.’

Sources said Diddy went to rehab following the 2016 incident and continues to seek both therapy and spiritual work.

The video, obtained by CNN, shows the rapper shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist, chasing Cassie down the hall at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.

As she tried to get into an elevator, he grabbed her by the back of the head and slammed her to the ground.

He then kicked her as she lay on the floor motionless, before grabbing the two designer bags she’d tried to escape with. Diddy stood over her, kicked her again, and then dragged her back to their room by the hoodie.

Cassie claimed in a since-settled lawsuit that Diddy had paid the same hotel $50,000 for the footage after the attack.

Cassie’s attorney Meredith Firetog, said: ‘Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt.’

‘When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday.’

Sean was later blasted by Kim Porter’s father over the over ‘disgusting’ video of Cassie’s assault, and stated, ‘It was despicable. I couldn’t believe it. I was in Vietnam, and I wouldn’t do that to my enemy.’

The City of New York keeps a list of all recipients of the Key to the City and Combs will remain in the log, however his entry has already been amended.

‘This Key to the City was rescinded by Mayor Eric Adams on June 4, 2024, via a formal letter due to actions of domestic and gender-based violence committed by Mr. Combs.’

Last month, Adams told PIX11 that his team was getting together to reconsider the honor.

‘I think all of us were deeply disturbed by watching that chilling video of the young lady being assaulted by him.

‘The committee and the team have never rescinded a key before, but we are now sitting down to see what the next steps forward are going to be,’ he said.

Diddy is currently under federal investigation and facing serious allegations of sexual assault and abuse.

Last September, when he gave Diddy the key, he declared it as a representation of everything the rapper has done for NYC, through his long-running support for black entrepreneurs, including millions of dollars in donations.

‘A son of Harlem, Combs worked his way to the top, becoming a successful musical talent both in front of and behind the mic,’ said Adams.

New York City council members are urging Mayor Eric Adams to revoke Diddy’s symbolic key to the city.

After a 2016 clip of the rapper beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was released in a video by CNN last week, several council members are requesting Adams, 63, take back the honor.

‘Mayor Adams should immediately revoke Diddy’s key to the city,’ Council Member Sandy Nurse told TMZ. ‘As an abuser, Diddy lost his right to have such an honor and should be held accountable for his actions. Mayor Adams should set the example and take it away.’

Shaun Abreu, who represents Manhattan’s 7th District, agreed as he told the outlet: ‘Mayor Adams should snatch back Diddy’s key and slam the door behind him. We won’t be missing you.’

Council Member Joe Borelli added that ‘taking away an honor from a woman beater seems like par for the course.’

She then turned her ire towards local politicians, and singled out Mayor Adams.

‘The worst thing is we’re being gaslit by the politicians who tell us that it’s actually safer than ever, and it’s not. I’m sorry, there’s no way,’ she said.

‘I’m out there. I’m on the train. I’m walking around. It’s not safe,’ McSweeney continued.

‘I’m hoping that things turn around, because like I said, this is the best city in the world, but the people who are in charge do not care. Mayor Adams is at Zero Bond, he’s at Casa Cipriani. Help us.’

The star then said she was considering moving to Florida if things don’t change, and that she and daughter Kier have already started looking at colleges in the Sunshine State.

'This breaks my heart because New York City is the best city in the world, but it's not safe right now, and it is especially not safe for women,' McSweeney said

Posting to Instagram on Tuesday, the New York native detailed some of the horrors she’d witnessed in the deteriorating metropolis.

‘People are smoking crack for breakfast in Times Square,’ she said into the camera as she trudged down one of New York’s dreary, wet streets.

‘My daughter also had someone on the train tell her that they were going to turn her into a pile of meat on the floor,’ she continued.

McSweeney finished, ‘And I’ll be leaving New York as soon as possible.’

The reality star and fashion designer was born in Manhattan and has spent her entire life in New York.

She appeared on the Real Housewives of New York City and Love & Hip-Hop: New York and is a longtime fixture of downtown New York’s social scene.

Despite her passion for the city, McSweeney has hinted over the past year that she’s eyeing a move to Florida.

The Married to the Mob founder, who converted to Judaism in 2022, said last year, ‘I love NYC but Miami is growing on me.’

McSweeney’s revelation comes just days after fellow RHONY star Bethenny Frankel claimed that she was punched on the streets of the Big Apple.

Frankel, 53, shared the shocking news on social media after TikTok user Mikayla Toninato went viral after revealing that a man came up and ‘hit me in the face’.

‘This is insane bc this happened to me a few months ago but I was embarrassed to say,’ Frankel wrote in the comments section.

Frankel was born and raised in New York, but relocated to Connecticut a few years ago after citing safety concerns for herself and her teenage daughter Bryn.

‘I don’t feel totally safe. I’m not going to lie,’ she told Fox 5 NY in 2022.

‘I walk with my daughter. We had multiple incidents. She cringes now. She won’t walk down the street without digging into my hand. It’s not what it used to be,’ she continued.

‘Instagram makes it seem like it’s vines outside restaurants and truffle cheese and everything is ok, but that’s the social life, and the nightlife. That’s not what’s going on day to day.’

Another Tiktoker named Halley Kate suffered a similar random attack on the streets of New York  – recounting it on her own TikTok page.

‘You guys I was literally just walking, and a man came up and punched me in the face,’ she said.

‘Oh my God, it was so bad I can’t even talk,’ she added.

A third TikTok user named Olivia Brand recounted her assault in the Big Apple, which took place on March 17.

She said she was walking and ‘literally got punched in the head on the sidewalk. He goes, “Sorry,” then punches me in the head.’

Olivia added: ‘Holy c**p, what the hell just happened? Oh my God.’

According to Page Six, more than 25 women have revealed on TikTok they were randomly attacked in New York City in the past few months.

The growing number of random punching attacks in New York City seemingly appears to part of a disturbing trend called the knockout game – where strangers punch random strangers in New York City with the intent of ‘punching them unconscious.’

Last week, New York police arrested a second man accused of randomly punching women in the face on the streets of Manhattan.

The second suspect, Mallik Miah, 30, was arrested Thursday and charged with allegedly assaulting 27-year-old Mikayla Toninato in Greenwich Village in a broad daylight attack.

He has since been freed on supervised release, and has not been linked to any of the other assaults plaguing women in the Big Apple in recent weeks.

Toninato took to her social media page immediately after the attack – which just so happened to have occurred around the same time that influencer Halley Kate McGookin was also assaulted.

McGookin’s alleged attacker, Skiboky Stora, 40, was arraigned in court last Thursday.

At least four other New York City women saying they have also been subjected to the seemingly random attacks in recent weeks.
