Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has announced she and husband Adam Whitehead are expecting their first child, just four months after tying the knot.

The actress, 31, who plays Victoria Sugden in the show, shared the wonderful news on Instagram and admitted the couple were shocked with how quickly they fell pregnant.

Isabel, who is almost fourth months pregnant, told The Mirror: ‘It’s something that we wanted to happen, but now it actually has, it’s still sinking in!’.

The soap star admitted she was so shocked after reading the positive pregnancy test the couple had to rush out and buy three more just to be sure it was correct.

She said: ‘Originally, we booked a wedding for 2026, but then I realised I didn’t want to wait that long to start a family. But I also wanted to be married first, so I kept changing the goal posts, but this was always the plan!’.

However it has not been plain sailing for the mother-to-be who already in her first trimester has battled fatigue and mood swings.

‘I didn’t know what to expect, but I think it has been tougher than I thought because it’s been a bit of a roller-coaster. But luckily, I haven’t been very sick, so that’s a plus’
