Emma Stone’s Husband Directs Her in New Rom-Com

's husband Dave McCary is set to direct her in a Universal Pictures rom-com called The Catch, which 'will likely be the next film' she shoots.

On Thursday, Deadline reported that the 37-year-old Squarespace brand ambassador courted 'several stars' to portray her leading man, but 'landed it after multiple meetings.'

It might get awkward for the 40-year-old staffer masterminding love scenes between Stone and the 45-year-old Star Trek heartthrob, but the couple have been married for six years now.

On March 13, the two-time Oscar winner and McCary will celebrate their daughter Louise Jean's fifth birthday.

The inseparable couple - who met in 2016 when Stone hosted SNL - co-founded their production company Fruit Tree with Ali Herting in 2020.

The Paper producer-writers Patrick Kang and Michael Levin penned the script to the mysterious flick, which will also be overseen by Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy.

The Catch will mark McCary's second directorial feature after helming the 2017 Kyle Mooney dramedy Brigsby Bear - now streaming on Netflix - which earned rave reviews but only earned $681,632 at the box office.

It comes after many years of Stone starring in a string of serious drama Oscar fodder like her role as big-pharma CEO Michelle Fuller in Yorgos Lanthimos's $55 million-budget thriller Bugonia, which only earned $42.3 million back at the box office 

Speaking of which, the Arizona-born beauty is nominated for two Oscars - best actress in a leading role and best picture - at the 98th Academy Awards, which air March 15 on ABC/Hulu

It will certainly be an uphill battle for Stone as Hamnet actress Jessie Buckley is on an impressive winning streak - taking home the Critics' Choice Award, the Golden Globe (L) and the BAFTA (R)

But first, the Louis Vuitton brand ambassador competes for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures at the 37th PGA Awards, which will be held this Saturday at the Fairmont Century Plaza in LA.
