Emma Stone achieved a milestone while taking on hosting duties for the fifth time on Saturday Night Live, and both Tina Fey and Candice Bergen made surprise cameos to help celebrate.
The La La Land actress, 35 – who recently appeared on the cover for W Magazine’s Art Issue – was officially inducted into the ‘five-timers club’ by the SNL alum and Murphy Brown star.
To kick off the opening monologue, Stone stepped onto the stage and was given a warm welcome by the audience.
The Easy A star was chic in a white, strapless corset top as well as a pair of pin-striped trousers that were secured with a black belt that wrapped around her waist.
Once the applause began to die down, Emma excitedly sent gratitude to the cheering crowd and expressed, ‘It is so great to be back! It’s my fifth time hosting SNL.’

‘And it has always been my favorite show, and since I started hosting, it’s also become just a huge part of my life,’ Emma continued.
She then gushed about creating ‘memories’ as well as ‘so many friends’ while making appearances on the sketch comedy series over the years.
The star also recalled meeting her now-husband, Dave McCary, while filming an episode of SNL back in December 2016. He notably was a segment director on the show from 2013 through 2018.
Stone then proudly stated, ‘I’m so honored to be joining the SNL five-timers club.’ Before she could continue, Tina Fey appeared on the stage, causing the audience to erupt in applause.
The comedian – who was a cast member on the series from 1997 to 2006 – donned a velvet jacket that had the number 5 embroidered on the left side.
The 30 Rock alum welcomed Emma to the club and added, ‘At 35-years-old, you are officially the youngest member. I am the second youngest at 53. But you’re going to love it in there.’
She continued to explain, ‘A few years ago, they even added a whole women’s section’ and revealed that the idea had actually come from Candice Bergen.
The Book Club actress then suddenly appeared on the other side of Emma, and the crowd once again shared excited cheers and applause by the second, surprise cameo.

She jokingly replied with, ‘It’s got everything. Showers, a locker room, a big portrait with the eyes cut out so Martin Short can peek in.’
The Curse actress later told Bergen that she ‘should be proud of what you built.’
‘I am,’ the actress responded. ‘The women’s section started out as a small, quiet place to cry, but over the years, it became a big luxurious place to cry.’
Emma then asked Tina if the club existed when she was around and Fey answered, ‘No. Things were different in the 2010s. Network TV was in its heyday. My show 30 Rock was watched by 6 million people.’
When asked if that viewership was a lot, the comedian said, ‘At the time, no. But today, no.’
To conclude the opening monologue, Tina and Candice presented the Oscar winner with a five-timers jacket, which she happily put on.
‘This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, and it means so much that I get to share this moment with you guys,’ she had gushed on stage.

Also during the latest SNL episode, Emma had the chance to show off her comedic skills by taking part in a variety of sketches
During the first skit of the night, the beauty portrayed a contestant alongside Heidi Gardner and Punkie Johnson on a game show called Question Quest – which was hosted by Michael Longfellow
Emma answered the first question of the game correctly and the host immediately jumped into announcing her prize, which had Stone a bit confused
It was then revealed that she had won a 37-year-old tortoise named Speedy and the host then told her that the tortoise had actually been his since he was a little boy
Stone then asked how long a tortoise could live, which prompted Longfellow to make the contestants try to guess the answer
Also during the latest SNL episode, Emma had the chance to show off her comedic skills by taking part in a variety of sketches.
During the first skit of the night, the beauty portrayed a contestant alongside Heidi Gardner and Punkie Johnson on a game show called Question Quest – which was hosted by Michael Longfellow.
The premise of the show was that contestants needed to correctly answer questions from numerous different topics.
The first question was from an American History segment, and asked the contestants who invented the cotton gin. Emma’s character, Jen, hit the buzzer and answered Eli Whitney – which was correct.
The host then immediately jumped into announcing her prize, which had Stone a bit confused. ‘Oh, wow after one question? Nice.’
It was then revealed that she had won a 37-year-old tortoise named Speedy. The host then told her that the tortoise had actually been his since he was a little boy.
Stone asked how long a tortoise could live, which prompted Longfellow to make the contestants try to guess the answer.
Both Heidi and Punkie gave wrong estimates, and Emma stated, ‘It can’t be more than 100 years.’
The prize announcer humorously stated that Emma was now in a 190-year contract with the tortoise – which had previously belonged to the host
‘I’m not sure I can take care of a tortoise for the rest of my life,’ Jen stated as she began to not want the prize
The host moved on to another question, which Heidi answered correctly and her prize was announced and turned out to be a total of three new cars
However, Emma’s character deemed her winning to be ‘not fair’ and Longfellow then offered that the other contestants could try to win the tortoise
‘Speedy is all yours!’ Longfellow told Stone, who begged, ‘Why did you do this to me?’
He simply responded with, ‘Because it was done to me. I would say join us next week, but this was the first and last episode of Question Quest’
‘More than 100 years is correct. 150 to 190 to be exact,’ the host announced, which made Stone’s character appear shocked at how long a tortoise could live.
Due to her accidently answering the question correctly, she won another prize which was lettuce and peppers to feed Speedy.

In another sketch, The Help actress portrayed an amateur potter named, Cody, and was a special guest on the show called What’s In The Kiln?
The pair kicked off the episode inside a pottery studio and showed off pieces that they had recently crafted
Fineman’s character, Rainey, showed a mug with a face that she had made. ‘It’s just a mug, but I think it’s my best yet. Remember, folks, we’re not professionals’
Gardner’s character, Judy, then showed off three, poorly crafted finger basins that she had also made
She added, ‘I love the reaction my family has when they open one of my hand-made bowls,’ and mimicked a reaction of feigned excitement
Chloe replied, ‘I get that too. Well, our guest today has been making incredible gifts here for the past three years’ and Emma then joined the hosts

Heidi gushed that the cup was ‘amazing’ and added ‘I like how heavy it is. It’s like a workout to drink out.’
‘Right? And it never looks dirty because it never looks clean,’ Chloe gleefully responded.
Gardner’s character, Judy, also showed off three, poorly crafted finger basins that she had also made.
She added, ‘I love the reaction my family has when they open one of my hand-made bowls,’ and mimicked a reaction of feigned excitement.
Chloe replied, ‘I get that too. Well, our guest today has been making incredible gifts here for the past three years.’
She then proceeded to talk about the love of pottery and stated, ‘I love that pottery is so personal. These days people don’t want something made by a machine. They want something made by a premenopausal lady in a fleece vest’
Chloe and Heidi then showed two bowls that they had made, and asked Stone to present hers to show how better her pottery skills are
However, when she took out her own bowl – it looked exactly like the hosts’ pieces, but the pair gushed at how compared to theirs, it was like ‘night and day’
Emma’s character then finally presented another piece that wasn’t a bowl due to her wanting to start ‘branching out’
The star then placed an item that appeared to be very unstructured, but Chloe and Heidi were blown away
The skit concluded with Stone informing the two that she was selling the piece to her own father
Emma then appeared with the two hosts and received a warm welcome.

She then revealed that it had turned into a very plain bowl with the word ‘Dream’ written on the front.

Emma also appeared in a Please Don’t Destroy sketch during the episode, but once the video began, a disclaimer suddenly flashed on the screen
It read, ‘Due to a hard drive malfunction, some of Emma Stone’s footage from this week’s Please Don’t Destroy video was corrupted. But using advanced AI technology, we were able to seamlessly replace any lost shots of her’
She received a warm welcome from Ben, Martin and John and the trio gushed how they were ‘big fans’ of her
Emma sat down in a chair in the small space and continued the conversation, but at one point, when the camera cut back to her, a poorly generated face of Stone was placed over Punkie Johnson’s face
Another disclaimer then appeared: ‘The only cast member available to be the host’s body double was Punkie Johnson’
The conversation continued as normal, with Ben revealing that they had started watching Emma’s series, The Curse
The clip then continues with the real Emma back on the screen, and both she and Martin dramatically reveal that they are in love

Punkie – who was pretending to be Stone – misunderstood and assumed they were talking about Harry Potter.
‘Emma and I are in love. Now give me a kiss, babe,’ Martin said as he started to stand up from the couch. However, the camera then cut to Punkie with Emma’s AI-generated face leaping up
Johnson then began cracking a series of jokes and continued to move her head around and Ben then stated, ‘No one is going to think this is Emma Stone’

Hernandez began speaking Spanish, but Martin understood and emotionally yelled out, ‘I knew you would say that. You always say that’
He then turned to John, who had an AI-generated face of himself
A disclaimer popped up and read: ‘John didn’t like how he looked in the latter half of the video, so he worked with our editors to make changes’
The video concluded with Emma and Martin about to share a kiss, but Punkie took her place and she kissed Martin
A last disclaimer appeared: ‘Turns out, Martin and Punkie really felt a connection and have been casually hooking up ever since’
