Emma Stone channeled Gwyneth Paltrow’s iconic look from the 1998 film Great Expectations during an outing in NYC on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old actress – who has been busy promoting her new movie Bugonia – was seen arriving to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert as she showcased her archival ensemble.
Paltrow had worn the two-piece set from Donna Karan in the modern adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations.
Stone flashed a cheerful smile wearing a green cardigan secured with a clasp at the front from the brand’s Spring/Summer 1996 collection and opted to not don a top underneath.
She slipped into a matching maxi skirt that fell down towards her ankles as well as a pair of open-toed, black pumps.
The Oscar winner chose to not add flashy pieces of jewelry to allow the daytime look to be the main focal point.

During a past interview with Vogue, Paltrow reflected on why the green outfit became iconic.
‘I think partially because this scene is so sexy because Ethan and I make out,’ she said, referencing to her co-star in the film Ethan Hawke.
Stone opted for a classic makeup look as she arrived to film her appearance on the late night talk show on Wednesday.
A warm blush was added to her cheekbones for a radiant glow while a rosy pink tint was worn on her lips for a finishing touch.
The star has taken on a leading role in the upcoming black comedy Bugonia – which was directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.
Stone and the filmmaker have previously collaborated on other projects in the past, such as The Favourite (2018) and Poor Things (2023).
Other cast members in the movie – which is set to hit theaters on October 24 – include Jesse Plemons, Alicia Silverstone and Aidan Delbis.
The premise is: ‘Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth,’ per IMDB.

Both Stone and Plemons recently discussed how they kept the mood light on the set during production.
‘It felt like such a sprint marathon, the movie, that it doesn’t let up,’ the actor told People, before noting the ‘mental and physical’ toll shooting the black comedy had taken on the them.
The two stars would often have conversations about their children with Plemons adding, ‘I don’t know if you’re a parent, but [you] can’t keep us from talking about our kids.’
Stone is mom to daughter Louise, four, whom she shares with husband Dave McCary.
Plemons shares Ennis, seven, and James, four, with Kirsten Dunst – whom he tied the knot with in 2022.
Stone explained that it had been ‘intense’ to film scenes due to the claustrophobic nature of the set – a basement – and expressed ‘you’re packed in like sardines.’
The Easy A actress further said, ‘I mean, day in and day out, we were only ever serious for 30 seconds.’

During a press conference at the Venice Film Festival last month in September, the star opened up about the topic, per Variety.
‘I don’t know about looking down on us, but one of my favorite people who has ever lived is [astronomer] Carl Sagan and I fell madly in love with his philosophy and science and how brilliant he is,’ Stone expressed.
‘He very deeply believed the idea that we’re alone in this vast expansive universe – not that we’re being watched – is a pretty narcissistic thing.’
The actress then added, ‘So yes I’m coming out and saying it, I believe in aliens!’

Earlier this week, Stone glammed up as she attended the premiere of Bugonia in NYC at the Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday.
The actress turned heads wearing an off-white Louis Vuitton gown with a shimmering silver trim on the material.
Her locks were swept back away from her face while her side bangs rested on her forehead.
Stone was seen making a grand arrival to the screening and was joined by her husband for the festivities.
