Emma Heming Willis is opening up about the sensitive topic of women’s brain health, amid her husband Bruce Willis’ battles with dementia.
Emma, 45, who has been married to the 68-year-old Willis since 2009, started the wellness brain health brand Make Time in 2020.
She co-founded the brand with Helen Christoni, becoming curious on the topic of women’s brain health after her nine-year-old daughter Evelyn was born in 2014.
Heming Willis – who shared a sweet Valentine’s Day post with her husband two weeks ago – opened up about her brand’s mission in an interview with People.
‘My doctor will talk to me about my breast health, my cholesterol, my heart, but not about my brain,’ Heming Willis said, adding, ‘I had never heard the term “brain health” before.’

She admitted to suffering from a brain fog after Evelyn was born, though her doctor dismissed it as what’s referred to as, ‘mommy brain.’
Heming Willis ultimately sought out a specialist and the ‘fog’ ultimately lifted thanks to ‘fistfuls’ of daily supplement pills, which started her on her new mission.
She teamed up with her friend and business partner Christoni, 53, to create Make Time, described as a, ‘wellness brand and movement to raise awareness of the importance of brain health,’ especially for women.
Both women have experience dealing with brain health issues, with Heming Willis announcing her action star husband Bruce Willis was diagnosed with, ‘Frontotemporal Dementia.’
Christoni has lost her grandmother and mother-in-law to dementia, and her own daughter last year to mental health issues.
‘All families are affected by this. We found ourselves in this position, with this mission. Your purpose finds you,’ Christoni said.
The Making Time mission can be as simple as a quick adventure with friends – with the partners recently trying yoga with baby goats.
‘I’ve been able to lean in on this new community I find myself in, so giving back to people who are on this journey as care partners has been super meaningful. Community is everything,’ she said.

The brand includes a podcast along with a Make Time Wellness product line that includes ‘brain-nourshing’ vitamins and drinkable supplements.
No one was talking to women about their brain. It was a very male-dominated conversation. I was like let’s do it,’ Christoni said.
Heming Willis stressed the importance of educating women about brain health earlier, ‘not just when you get a diagnosis and it’s too late.’
‘Brain health can happen at any point in our journey. We’re really just trying to empower women to think about it,’ she added.
