Emma Corrin stuns in black mini dress at Deadpool & Wolverine event with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman

Emma Corrin looked amazing in a black halter neck mini dress as they joined Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at a Deadpool & Wolverine photocall at IET London on Friday.

The actor, 28, paired the edgy dress, which uniquely featured a buckle at the neck, with knee-high black boots also adorned with buckles. 

Emma’s outfit exposed subtle tattoos on their right thigh and right arm and they accessorised with silver jewellery.

The star, who rose to fame portraying Princess Diana in The Crown, portrays antagonist Cassandra Nova in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Emma, Ryan, 47, and Hugh, 55, were joined in their photos by Pug and Chinese Crested Dog cross Peggy, who received the title of Britain’s Ugliest Dog in 2023.

Peggy, 6, makes her film debut in Deadpool & Wolverine, and Ryan pushed to have her involved, telling Empire this was because Peggy ‘feels like the animal manifestation of Wade Wilson’.

Wade Wilson, better known has Deadpool, is Ryan’s character in the film and he proudly carried Peggy at the photocall. 

Ryan wore a beautifully designed dark green shirt with a white vest and a silver chain underneath.

He paired the shirt with a khaki pair of chinos, which he slipped a hand into the pocket of, and a bright white pair of Converse. 

Finishing the Deadpool & Wolverine’s main cast is Hugh, who last played Wolverine, real name James ‘Logan’ Howlett, in 2017’s Logan.

In Logan, Wolverine, without his famous healing powers, got stabbed in the heart and impaled by a branch by his evil clone X-24.

He was then buried by his mutant daughter Laura and the other Transigen children beneath a wooden X to honour his time with the X-Men.

Explaining why he decided to bring Wolverine out of retirement, Hugh told Variety in 2022: ‘I went to a screening of Deadpool. I was 20 minutes in, and I was like: ‘Ah, damn it.”

Hugh continued: ‘All I kept seeing in my head was 48 Hours with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy. So, it’s been brewing for a long time. It just took me longer to get here.

Ryan had not only been calling Hugh constantly in a bid to get him to ‘unretire’ Wolverine, he also sent him dozens of cupcakes.

Interestingly, Hugh told ScreenRant in 2017 that if the X-Men were a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he might have reconsidered retiring.

He said: ‘If that was on the table when I made my decision, it certainly would have made me pause. That’s for sure. 

‘Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there’s a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughter]. You never know.’

Hugh revealed he decided to stop playing Wolverine after 17 years and nine films because of something American comedian Jerry Seinfeld said to him.

Jerry ended his hugely successful sitcom Seinfeld after nine series even though could have carried on, because, as he told Hugh, it’s important to ‘leave the party before it gets too late’.

Hugh used this to confirm his decision to step away from Wolverine for seven years.

Deadpool 3 follows Deadpool 2 in 2018 and Deadpool in 2016.

The franchise’s first sequel is among the highest-grossing R-rated films in history, R-rated meaning unsuitable for those under 17.

Development on Deadpool 3 began at 20th Century Fox in 2016, but was placed on hold after the studio was acquired by Disney in 2019.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first R-rated film at Disney, Deadpool & Wolverine hits UK cinemas on July 25 and US cinemas the day after.

The photocall comes after the MCU chief said the existing friendship between the two leading actors alleviated the ‘pressure’ that comes with making such a huge film.

Kevin Feige told Variety: ‘Sequels and big-budget franchise films have a lot of pressure and money and expectations. They work best when most of that subsides to the background and it’s just a bunch of friends making something cool.’

Answering the big question of whether fans can expect The X-Men to enter the MCU, Kevin said: ‘I wouldn’t say when but we’ve already hinted over the past few years at certain people possessing what will one day be known as the mutant gene. 

‘We’ll be very excited when we tap into it.’
