He lost his Cabinet job after getting too close to his aide – in breach of Covid rules as well as marriage vows – but now it seems Matt Hancock and Gina Coladangelo are only too happy to keep their distance.
I can reveal that the former Health Secretary, currently getting a beasting on Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, has moved into the same street as his girlfriend – but not the same house.
And, awkwardly, the street in a posh enclave of South-West London is just a stone’s throw from the home of Gina’s estranged millionaire husband, Oliver Tress.
Hancock lost his ministerial job in 2021 when CCTV footage of him and Gina canoodling in his office were leaked – at a time when social distancing rules that he was instrumental in drawing up were in place.

After the affair came to light, Gina and Oliver, the man behind retail chain Oliver Bonas, split and sold their five-bedroom Edwardian home to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay for £7.5 million. Matt and his wife of 15 years Martha, with whom he has three children, also split so he could start a new life with Gina, 46.
After moving out, Hancock – still an MP despite his forays into reality TV – started claiming an extra £13,200 a year in parliamentary expenses to rent a London pad.
On tonight’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, viewers will see a brutal interrogator, described as a ‘Liz Truss lookalike’, grill Hancock over his affair. In a brutal exchange she forces him to strip down to his underpants, and tells him: ‘You’re a man that likes to put it about a bit,’ adding: ‘You’re not a good looking guy, are you?’
In the episode, the 45-year-old is also left with two broken ribs after a fighting challenge with former Love Islander Teddy Soares, 26. A source tells me: ‘Matt broke his rib. He knew he couldn’t admit it or he’d be medically withdrawn. So with less than two days to go, he just shut up and got on with it.’
Perhaps that training might help Matt should he run into Oliver down the shops…
