Emily Blunt is taking her parents to the Oscars.
The Oppenheimer star, 41, is up for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the wife of the titular wartime hero in the lauded summer epic.
And when she arrives at the ceremony on Sunday in Hollywood, she will be joined by her parents Oliver and Joanna as she recalled that her parents inspiring her to take up acting by hiring ‘inappropriate’ titles like Jaws for her to watch as a child.
She told The Sunday Mirror: “My dad was always going to the video store to get really inappropriate films for all of us to watch.
‘One of my first experiences was watching Jaws at the age of seven, and he would pitch that it was for the whole family – but it was really for him and we would be terrified. It was one of my first memories of films and it’s still my favourite, even now.’

Emily took her parents to the EE BAFTA Awards last month, where she and her mother dazzled in gold dresses whilst her dad was suited and booted as he quaffed a glazz of fizz.
The Devil Wears Prada actress – who is married to John Krasinski and has Hazel, nine, and seven-year-old Violet with him – recently explained that she was hoping to take her folks along to the biggest nights in film because it coincided with her dad’s birthday.
She said: ‘I’m going to bring John and I’m hoping my parents, who are sort of angling for me. It’s my dad’s birthday that weekend!
‘I think the kids may stay up and watch it.’
Emily is nominated alongside Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), America Ferrera (Barbie), Jodie Foster (Nyad), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers) and the winner will be announced at the ceremony in Los Angeles on March 10.
The actress went on to talk about several scenes in the movie when she had to depict her character of Kitty Oppenheimer drunk – and she insisted she was sober throughout after previously knocking back booze for another drunken role and it went horribly wrong.
She explained: ‘I’ve done it once [downed alcohol for a drunk scene] and it was a disaster.’
‘I was so paranoid and messy – it was way back in the day, I’m not even going to tell you what it was for. No, I prefer to be stone-cold sober.

Oppenheimer came away with a leading 13 Oscar nominations, receiving nods for Best Picture; Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.

He’ll be hoping to change his luck with his three-hour epic about the creation of the atomic bomb, which has been an awards season favourite so far.
