The Inbetweeners fans were left rejoicing this week when Joe Thomas revealed that talks of a reboot are in the works.
Joe, 40, who portrayed Simon in the hit coming-of-age comedy, said all of the main cast are on board to get back together, a decade after the last film was released.
With James Buckley (Jay), Simon Bird (Will) and Blake Harrison (Neil) all on board, Joe suggested that another movie is more likely than a new TV series and would follow the group of lads away from school.
However, fans have been left wondering if Emily Atack – who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe on the E4 series – would also be part of the reboot after she was suddenly ‘axed’ from the last cast reunion.
In 2019, the show’s leads hosted The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited, a chat show style reunion that also featured Jessica Knappett, Lydia Rose Bewley and Lauren O’Rourke who all starred in the first of the two Inbetweeners’ films.

James is said to have had Emily axed from the 2019 reunion because he was worried his wife, Clair Meek, would find out about the brief relationship they had on the show (pictured in 2010)
However, Emily was noticeably absent from the 10th anniversary special, and James was said to have played a part in it.
Reports at the time stated that James told producers ‘it’s her or me’ as a result of a past fling they had when they were both single,
The Sun suggested that James was afraid his wife Clair would find out about the brief relationship they had during their days in the show during 2008 to 2010.
Emily was apparently told the day before she was set to appear on the reunion that she wasn’t required.
A source told the publication: ‘Emily got a call from producers 24 hours before she was due on set. They were deeply embarrassed and apologetic. They had to explain that James had asked she be taken off the show.
‘The pair had a couple of cheeky snogs back in the day when they were both single. But James didn’t want it to become a major issue on the reunion, or with his wife Clair.’
The insider added that the past kisses she shared with James meant nothing and she was shocked and upset to learn that she wasn’t needed on the show.
James, also apparently took umbrage with Emily being fresh off appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and claimed it didn’t sit well with the Inbetweeners’ ‘brand’.
Emily, who came runner up on the programme, was apparently hurt when she heard James’ comments, where he claimed that her reality show stint was ‘tacky’.
James’ representatives refused to comment at the time.

The bubbly blonde apparently opened up about the information during Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast.
A source told The Sun: ‘Richard asked about Joe Thomas, saying it couldn’t be him as he’s a lovely man.
‘He then bought up James Buckley, and Emily hesitated and then shouted out “James F***ley!” which got a huge laugh from the audience.
‘Emily then said that there was a “lot of snobbery” and then said she didn’t want to say anything else.’
The comedian previously revealed that she had ‘no idea’ why she was scrapped from the reunion.
She said on Capital Radio: ‘I don’t really know what happened here. I was booked to do it, very much looking forward to do it. I think it was kind of the day before I was told I was no longer needed for it.
Insisting there is no bad blood, Emily continued: ‘I wish them all the best and I know it’s going to be great. The fans won’t be disappointed by it.’
MailOnline has contacted Emily’s representatives for comment.

Emily is currently enjoying a break from work while she adjusts to motherhood.
She welcomed her first child – son Barney – in June with her boyfriend Alistair Garner.
The actress has known her boyfriend Alistair for almost three decades as her mother is the sister of Alistair’s stepmother Jane Garner.
They were introduced after Emily’s aunt started dating Alistair’s father Stephen Garner in the early nighties before they got married in 1994.
The Inbetweeners star confirmed she was six months pregnant in March, as she shared a rough idea of her due date with her fans.
She shared the news during a BBC Breakfast appearance, where she also confirmed she was expecting a baby boy.
During a Loose Women appearance, revealed how pregnancy has changed her priorities before welcoming their little boy.
She revealed to the panel how excited she was to welcome her baby and said that she felt ‘extremely connected’ to her body now more than ever.
‘I used to get told off by my friends for not looking after myself enough and staying up too late and all of that and now I’m like, ‘No, my body is a vessel”.
She later added: ‘It’s so important that I get an early night and I’m really looking after myself’.
