Trailblazers stars Mel B and Ruby Wax reunited for a girls night in on Wednesday after the show was reportedly axed over claims of a ‘tense row’ between the Spice Girl and star Emily Atack.

Ruby, who is a comedian and mental health advocate, 71, took to her Instagram to share several snaps of herself and Mel, 49, enjoying a girl’s night in.

In one snap, the pair posed for a pouty selfie as they larked about in the kitchen together, clearly having formed a close bond while filming the show.

While another hilarious snap showed Ruby tightly clinging onto Mel as they posed for the camera.

She playfully captioned the snaps: ‘I think it’s serious ❤️’

Mel looked cosy as she sported a pair of rose print pyjamas and fluffy socks while Ruby cut a casual figure in a striped T-shirt and jeans.

It comes after the BBC adventure show was reportedly axed after one season due to hosts Mel and Emily, 34, clashes during filming.

The 2022 series, which was also presented by Ruby, followed the trio as they retraced the steps of Victorian explorer Isabella Bird through the Rocky Mountains.

The Mirror reported that Mel and Emily had a ‘frosty’ relationship which led to a ‘tense’ argument during filming in the US.

A source told the publication: ‘Once on set, their personalities definitely clashed and there was one row that was witnessed by several crew members. There was no way back from that at the time.’

Branding filming incredibly difficult as the trio undertook tough physical challenges on the 800-mile trek.

While a second claimed the BBC had hoped to recreate the onscreen chemistry of ITV’s Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix.

Saying: ‘Because Mel and Emily really did not get on, it was tough drumming up that natural chemistry. There were high hopes for the show but it won’t be coming back.’

However, the pair seemed to have put their difficulties behind them, with the first source adding: ‘It was a bit of a pressure cooker environment but Mel and Emily have seen each other since and things were fine between them.’

A BBC spokesperson said: ‘Trailblazers has not been “axed”. It was commissioned as a one-off series following in the footsteps of Victorian explorer Isabella Bird across the Rocky Mountains.’

MailOnline has also approached Emily and Mel’s reps for comment.

During filming Emily, Mel and Ruby attended a western bar in Aspen, recreating a scene from Coyote Ugly.

The Inbetweeners star and Ruby both donned cowboy hats and sunglasses as they gyrated among smoke machines in front of local pub-goers.

But Mel documented the whole thing to her 1.5million followers, admitting that her co-stars were ’embarrassing her on a school night’ via her Instagram Story.

His character is married to Maud, played by fellow Irish actor Victoria Smurfit.

Declan is described as fiercely intellectual, with an even fiercer temper, and is wooed to Corinium TV from the BBC by Tony.

The story is set in 1986 and follows the cut throat world of independent television, including the tense rivalry between Rupert Campbell-Black (Hassell) and the ambitious and egotistical controller of Corinium Television, Lord Tony Baddingham (Tennant).

More iconic characters from the drama have been unveiled in this second wave of images, introducing Sarah Stratton (Emily), who is described as ambitious and not afraid to use her looks to get to the top.

She is married to Deputy Prime Minister Paul Stratton (Rufus Jones) who is in the throes of a midlife crisis – everyone knows it.

Danny Dyer is also starring as Freddie Jones, a self-made electronics millionaire, while Lisa McGrillis has been cast as his social-climbing wife Valerie.

Luke Pasqualino is starring as the charming Basil ‘Bas’ Baddingham, Tony’s younger brother and the proprietor of Cotchester’s hot spot, ‘Bar Sinister’.

Following the announcement executive producer and Rivals author Jilly Cooper commented: ‘I’m utterly enchanted to be able to announce our all-star line-up for Rivals’.

‘Featuring some of the best acting talent that the British Isles has to offer, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better ensemble cast’.

‘I cannot wait to be on set and see them bring the characters I love so much to life. ‘The minute we met with Alex we knew he’d perfectly embody my all-time hero, the iconic, racy, ruthless, and devastatingly handsome, Rupert Campbell-Black. Viewers are in for a treat!’.

During a recent interview with Watch To Watch, Aidan joked about his appearance for the role, saying: ‘I look like I’m from circa 1975 but it’s for Jilly Cooper’s Rivals, which I’m filming until October.

‘I hadn’t read Rivals before. It seems very British so it wasn’t really on my radar, but it’s really fun. But after we wrap the tache is definitely going to go and I’m going to take a break – I’d love a big holiday!’

The series is set to debut on Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+ in other countries later this year.

She added: ‘So I want him to be a part of a really positive change and I want him to grow up knowing he can talk about these things openly and enjoy his life. I want him to be on the right side of history.’

Affirmative consent means ‘anything less than a clear, uncoerced, and informed confirmation of consent like ‘yes’ cannot qualify as consent in the eyes of the law.’

It came after Emily admitted her ‘body is a temple’ during pregnancy, after previously being told off by friends for staying out late and not looking after herself.

During a Loose Women appearance, revealed how pregnancy has changed her priorities before welcoming their little boy.

She revealed to the panel how excited she was to welcome her baby and said that she felt ‘extremely connected’ to her body now more than ever.

‘I used to get told off by my friends for not looking after myself enough and staying up too late and all of that and now I’m like, ‘No, my body is a vessel”.

Before adding: ‘It’s so important that I get an early night and I’m really looking after myself’.

Emily announced her pregnancy in December and said she was ‘over the moon’ to be becoming a mother.

Announcing the news, she wrote: ‘Hello Everyone, it’s been a little while but I’m back with some news. I’m delighted to share with you all that we’re having a baby!

‘I’ve never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time. Please go easy on me.

‘Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting – a bit like when you’ve just stepped off of the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover.

‘I’ve got to know my body on such an insane level. It’s made me appreciate the one I’ve been given SO much, I’m doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I’m growing.

‘We can already sense the baby is reclined on a mattress of peanut butter and jam sandwiches in there, demanding more chocolate buttons.

Liam was a housemate on the 2007 series of Big Brother when he finished in third place, losing out to winner Brian Belo.

Emily has previously been linked to a number of men, including singer Harry Styles, comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Seann Walsh, and footballer Jack Grealish.

The TV star and Manchester City footballer Jack were said to have enjoyed a secret six-week fling while he was still dating girlfriend Sasha Attwood – something the pair have vehemently denied.

Emily has known her boyfriend Alistair for almost three decades as her mother Kate Robbins is the sister of Alistair’s stepmother Jane Garner.

They were introduced after Emily’s aunt started dating Alistair’s father Stephen Garner in the early nighties before they got married in 1994.

Alistair appears in a photo of the close-knit family in 2017 where he’s surrounded by female members of Emily’s family and has his arm draped around the star’s sister, Martha, while the caption read: ‘He’s just one of the girls really.’

Emily, whose mother Kate is separated from her singer father Keith, is also close to her showbiz relatives including Phoenix Night’s star uncle Ted Robbins and her other auntie, former soap actress Amy Robbins.

Emily and Alistair kept their relationship secret for some time but grew close over the past year and have recently moved in together.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Emily and Alistair have grown close over the past 12 months.

‘It was unexpected but their family is delighted for them. They make a great couple and everybody is excited for their new arrival.’

Ulrika Jonsson defends sexy photoshoots as empowering

Ulrika Jonsson has declared that she is proud of her lads’ mag photoshoots from her younger years, defending them against criticism that they were sexist.

The TV personality, 56, appeared on the covers of a slew of the biggest magazines, such as FHM, Loaded, Nuts and Zoo – known for their scantily clad female celebrity cover stars –  back in their heyday in the 90s.

But the popularity of the controversial publications soon waned, as they drew backlash for objectifying young women for the purpose of male gratification, and circulation dropped rapidly, causing the majority to shutdown.

But Ulrika has now insisted that she ‘loved’ doing the sexy photoshoots and claimed that she and her fellow cover stars ‘did it almost as a right of passage’.

Writing in The Sun, she said that looking back on the covers gives her ‘a sense of pride and fun and, moreover, control.’

She said that the shoots were like jobs, but that instead of getting paid they got coverage, calling it a ‘win win’.

Ulrika added that she had always had ‘reputable photographers’ that never made her feel uncomfortable.

She wrote: ”I loved it because I felt completely in control, I didn’t feel compromised in any way. I was able to express a different version of myself. It was fun, cheeky, titillating.’

In response to those who criticised the covers as ‘misogynistic and objectifying’ and ‘purely for the gratification of men’, Ulrika said that she disagreed.

She insisted: ‘Why can’t us women enjoy feeling sexy or raunchy in between the drudgery of domesticity, kids and society’s relentless insistence on us to behave?

‘I look back at those pictures with a sense of pride and awe and wonder whether I would have the same courage today.’

She added that the only thing ‘ground my gears’ about the era was that they were referred to as ‘ladettes’.

Ulrika fumed: ‘We were enjoying ourselves and proving that women are capable of having morals, opinions and wanting sexual equality at the same time as pulling sultry poses in revealing clothes and exuding sexiness.’

Having posed for the likes of Loaded and FHM in the past, the actress, 34, said that despite ‘not seeing it as a sexual thing’, she also admitted some men ‘ruined’ the experience for her later.

Last year she said: ‘I enjoyed them. You know, I was quite young and, but I look back and I go f***ing hell I look amazing in those pictures.

‘And I was young and slim and pretty and I enjoyed being all those things and I didn’t see it as a sexual thing.

‘I was just really enjoying the moment of being in films and working with all these great photographers and wearing these lovely clothes and celebrating my body and my youth. And I think that’s fine.’

Discussing backlash she received at the time, Emily continued: ‘It’s the stuff that happens because of that it’s the people that can’t control their sexually aggressive thoughts that ruin it later.

‘You know, that’s not my fault. I can’t do anything about that. If you’re sitting there and can’t control your thoughts as a man, you know?

‘That’s not my fault. I can’t, I’m not doing it for that. I’m not doing it so that you can say all those nasty, abusive, sexually aggressive things to me.

In 2023, Harry Holding’s School Food Matters Garden, which George helped work on, won the RHS People’s Choice Award and a Silver-Gilt in the All About Plants Category.

Only members of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) are permitted entry to the Chelsea Flower show today and tomorrow before it opens to the general public on Thursday.

As well as being green-fingered, George, 31, has also worked within the showbusiness industry as a TV researcher and a musician.

Along with their sister Martha, 32, the pair are the children of actress Kate Robbins and film score composer Keith Atack, who were married between 1987 and 2008.

The TV personality’s heartwarming Instagram post to congratulate her brother comes just after the star celebrated the impending arrival of her unborn child with a baby shower at her London home with her family and friends over the weekend.

Emily displayed her baby bump in a blue maxi dress, which she wore with a ‘preggs’ sash with the font in the style of British bakery chain Greggs.

The star was joined by her loved ones as they toasted to the arrival of her first baby, who is expecting with her scientist boyfriend Dr Alistair Garner.

In March, Emily revealed how pregnancy has changed her priorities during an appearance on Loose Women ahead of welcoming her first child.

She said her ‘body was now a temple’ after friends worried in the past she had not been looking after herself.

The actress and comedian revealed to the panel how excited she was to welcome her baby – which she has confirmed is a boy – and said she felt ‘extremely connected’ to her body now more than ever.

‘I used to get told off by my friends for not looking after myself enough and staying up too late and all of that and now I’m like, ‘No, my body is a vessel”.

Before adding: ‘It’s so important that I get an early night and I’m really looking after myself’.

The Inbetweeners star shared a slew of photos to her Instagram page, including one of her posing on her decking with the playful caption: ‘3,789 months pregnant’.

In another photo shared to her Stories, Emily sat beside Alistair as they opened gifts for their baby together and held them up for the camera.

Also in attendance was Emily’s sister Martha, who was bringing the party as she danced with a friend in the kitchen.

Martha also appeared to be on catering duty, as she juggled several pans on the stove in one smiley snap.

Emily announced the happy news she is expecting her first child on Instagram at the beginning of January, with a snap of her blossoming bump, saying she was ‘over the moon’.

She didn’t confirm Alistair’s identity in the post, however her publicist later confirmed the relationship and they have reportedly set up home together as they prepare for the baby’s arrival.

But her road to motherhood has not been an easy one and said she’s suffered from ‘every single symptom’.

She told followers: I’m waiting for this glow up. I’ve had a blow up, not a glow up! Everyone’s saying ‘Oh you’re going to be in your glow up era, you’ll be in the gym doing pilates’ [but] I’m like a hen sitting on an egg! I haven’t moved’.

This year’s BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises will be hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan for the second year in a row.

The TV stars who appear in the reality travel series Rob And Romesh Vs together hosted the annual awards ceremony for the first time last year.

Rob, 38, said: ‘Romesh and I are absolutely buzzing to be back hosting the Baftas. We’ve not seen or spoken to each other since last year when we hosted so it will be good to catch up.

‘It’s a real privilege to continually get work together even though our friendship is fake and completely fabricated for commercial gain.

‘My teeth aren’t even that big I wear false ones so I can joke about them. On top of that Romesh isn’t even Asian he just pretends to be so he can do his mum’s accent’.

Romesh, 45, joked that he thought he had ‘done enough’ last year to be asked to host it solo this year, adding: ‘Hosting it with Rob again is also an honour I suppose’.

Coogan’s nod comes following a wave of controversy over his role as paedophile Jimmy Savile, which aired on BBC last year despite claims for it to be scrapped.

His portrayal of the depraved presenter was described as ‘eerily good’, however the series sparked criticism for making entertainment out of the harrowing events.

Amit Shaah (Happy Valley) Eanna Hardwicke (The Sixth Commandment), Harris Dickinson (A Murder at the End of the World)…

Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), Salim Daw ( The Crown ) have received nods for Supporting Actor.

In the daytime TV category, Loose Women, Lorraine, Make It Market and Scam Interceptors have all been nominated.

However This Morning was snubbed following a turbulent year for the show which saw both its regular hosts, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby leave.

The show saw a rotation of presenters hold the fort while bosses looked for new regular hosts, which were recently revealed as Cat Deeley and Ben Shepherd .

As for best Drama Series, The Gold, Happy Valley and Slow Horses have all been nominated alongside Top Boy.

In the Limited Drama category, Best Interests, Demon 79 ( Black Mirror ), The Long Shadow and The Sixth Commandment are all in with a chance.

Whereas in the Entertainment Series category, Hannah Waddingham: Home For Christmas and Later… With Jools Holland are among those nomination.

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Strictly Come Dancing are also on the shortlist.

Hannah is also nominated for Entertainment Performance for the Eurovision Song Contest, while Ant and Dec have received a nod for I’m A Celeb.

Following a hugely successful run during awards season, The Bear has been nominated in the International category alongside Beef and Class Act.

The Last Of Us, Love & Death and Succession have also received nods.

The Reality TV section sees Banged Up, Married At First Sight UK, My Mum, Your Dad and Squid Game: The Challenge battle it out for the win.

Coronation Street missed out on a nod for Best Soap, while rivals EastEnders and Emmerdale made the cut. Casualty was a surprise addition to the category.

Last week it was revealed that an iconic moment from the Netflix Beckham documentary has been nominated for a TV BAFTA .

The series released last October saw David, 48, and Victoria, 49, give an intimate insight into their marriage and early romance, their family life, as well as charting David’s footballing career.

One particular moment went viral after its release – when Victoria said she was from a ‘working class’ family before David pointed out that her father in fact used to drive her to school in a Rolls-Royce.

The hilarious scene spawned a host of memes and became a talking point from the successful series.

Now it has been nominated in the P&O Cruises Memorable Moments category at the TV Baftas along with five other entries.

The moment will go up against the end of Happy Valley , Ncuti Gatwa ‘s arrival in Doctor Who , Logan Roy’s death in Succession, teen Lucy’s performance on Channel 4 ‘s The Piano and the story of Bill and Frank in zombie drama The Last of Us .

17 out of 44 nominees in the performance categories have received their first BAFTA TV Awards nomination.

The nominations have been determined through a combination of TV membership-wide voting, Juries and Chapter voting.

Juries are comprised of voters with the relevant professional expertise and balance of gender, background, location and age.

Chapters are made up of BAFTA members who hold specialist knowledge in the relevant craft to the category in consideration.

Given the very high volume of entries to the BAFTA Television and BAFTA Television Craft Awards, the use of Juries ensures every longlisted entry for each category is seen and considered by each voting member.

This year, over 500 voters across 127 hours participated in 43 juries, as well as four Chapter votes took place to decide the nominations.

Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, said: ‘It is a real privilege to announce today’s nominations which recognise the most gripping, entertaining, challenging, funniest, most informative, highest quality, and most impactful TV programmes of 2023, as voted for by BAFTA members.

‘More than 100 programmes across 12 broadcasters and streamers represent an extraordinary range of content. We are proud to showcase this incredible roster of talent at our Television Craft Awards on 28 April and our Television Awards with P&O Cruises on 12 May.

‘It is important that we celebrate the extraordinary craft and creativity of the broadcast sector, particularly during this challenging year for many people working in the industry.’

In the series, Lord Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) and Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex) have a rivalry that seeps into the world of Corinium television station.

The Scottish actor, 53, is playing Lord Tony Baddingham, the ambitious and egotistical controller of Corinium Television.

He can be seen shouldering a rifle and wearing a tweed jacket with a matching tie and flat cap, while staring tensely into the distance behind a pair of sunglasses.

While Aidan has also undergone a transformation, sporting a distinctive moustache to play TV presenter Declan O’Hara.

Declan is described as fiercely intellectual, with an even fiercer temper, and is wooed to Corinium TV from the BBC by Tony.

But after we wrap the ‘tache is definitely going to go and I’m going to take a break – I’d love a big holiday!’

Meanwhile, Alex is playing the role of dashing ex-Olympian, Member of Parliament, incorrigible rake, and dangerously charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black.

Nafessa Williams is also pictured as Cameron Cook, a ferociously talented American TV executive who is brought to England by Tony to produce Declan’s new prime-time talk show.

She soon finds herself caught between the two powerful men who deeply underestimate her – at their peril.

The actress can be seen looking authoritative and confident in a red satin blazer, standing in front of a slew of TV monitors.

In contrast, Katherine Parkinson plays Lizzie Vereker, a romantic novelist suffering from a distinct lack of romance in her life and who is consistently overlooked by her preening and self-centred TV presenter husband, James Vereker, played by Oliver Chris.

Aidan spilled the beans about the steamy content for the show in an interview with The Times, revealing: ‘We have so much sex on our show, we have to have two intimacy coaches. Two!’

He continued: ‘Every day we’re in a different huge manor house somewhere, having garden parties.

‘And it is that thing as well, which happens sometimes in shows — and I see it happening [here], though none of us have kind of admitted to it, but it’s definitely there — where there’s a slight methody thing happening.

‘We’re all up for the party. We went out the other night to the Ivy. We had a late night, lots of cocktails. Never wanted a season two of anything more in my life.’

Also starring the show is Victoria Smurfit as a former actress and Declan’s bohemian, fickle wife, Maud, while Catriona Chandler plays their younger and wilder daughter Caitlin.

Claire Rushbrook plays Lady Monica Baddingham, Tony’s dependable, upper-crust wife who has absolutely no interest in the dramatic goings-on within her husband’s empire.

While Emily Atack and Rufus Jones will be playing husband and wife, with Emily playing Sarah Stratton, described as ambitious and not afraid to use her looks to get to the top.

On the other hand, Rufus is playing Deputy Prime Minister, Paul Stratton, and is in the throes of a midlife crisis – everyone knows it.

Danny Dyer is also starring as Freddie Jones, a self-made electronics millionaire, while Lisa McGrillis has been cast as his social-climbing wife Valerie.

And Luke Pasqualino is starring as the charming Basil ‘Bas’ Baddingham, Tony’s younger brother and the proprietor of Cotchester’s hot spot, ‘Bar Sinister’.

Following the casting announcement executive producer and Rivals author Jilly commented: ‘I’m utterly enchanted to be able to announce our all-star line-up for Rivals’.

‘Featuring some of the best acting talent that the British Isles has to offer, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better ensemble cast. I cannot wait to be on set and see them bring the characters I love so much to life.

‘The minute we met with Alex we knew he’d perfectly embody my all-time hero, the iconic, racy, ruthless, and devastatingly handsome, Rupert Campbell-Black. Viewers are in for a treat!’

According to Disney+, Rivals is a ‘joyously mischievous rollercoaster ride, steamy in its love stories and packed with larger-than-life characters.’

The streaming service continues that it brings a ‘2020s lens to the 1980s’, offering a ‘raw exploration of a complicated moment in British history when class, race, sex, wealth, and sexual liberation meant that, for the very privileged few, there were no limits to what they could achieve’.

Rivals is being produced by Happy Prince, which is part of ITV Studios, and will air globally on Disney+, on Hulu in the US and on Star+ in Latin America.

The screenplay is written by executive television producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins, of EastEnders fame.

In March, Emily revealed how pregnancy has changed her priorities during an appearance on Loose Women ahead of welcoming her first child.

Emily said her ‘body was now a temple’ after friends worried in the past she had not been looking after herself.

She revealed to the panel how excited she was to welcome her baby – which she has confirmed is a boy – and said that she felt ‘extremely connected’ to her body now more than ever.

‘I used to get told off by my friends for not looking after myself enough and staying up too late and all of that and now I’m like, ‘No, my body is a vessel”.

Before adding: ‘It’s so important that I get an early night and I’m really looking after myself’.

Emily proudly announced the happy news she is expecting her first child on Instagram at the beginning of January, with a snap of her blossoming bump, saying she was ‘over the moon’.

She didn’t confirm Alistair’s identity in the post, however her publicist later confirmed the relationship and they have reportedly set up home together as they prepare for the baby’s arrival.

But her road to motherhood has not been an easy one and said she’s suffered from ‘every single symptom’.

He was said to have also exchanged a string of flirty messages with the TV star and paid for expensive meals and gifts.

Paul’s estranged wife Alexandra only discovered the betrayal after they announced their divorce in 2017, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: ‘Paul and Molly grew close and had a real chemistry between them, they started texting and messaging regularly and things quickly escalated.

‘Paul is a very warm and generous guy, Molly was delighted with the watch and proudly showed it to family members saying it was from Paul. He gave her loads of presents — he was very thoughtful in that way.

‘Alex only found out her husband had befriended a younger woman once they had officially split, when she found the messages she was understandably confused.’

Paul reportedly struck up the friendship with the daughter of Phoenix Nights star Ted after bonding over baking, later gifting her the expensive Tag Heuer watch.

Back in 2014, a delighted Holly took to Twitter when she first met the TV star as she cheekily wrote: ‘Of all the pictures I could have had with Paul, I can’t find one that doesn’t look like I’m touching him up! Dammit!’

Meanwhile, Glynn was accused of his own romantic scandal when he was accused of exchanging sexually explicit messages with a female fan he met on Twitter.

According to The Mirror in 2017, – who has three children with his long-term ex-partner Kerry O’Carroll – sent nude images and ‘hundreds’ of raunchy messages with the fan behind his devoted love’s back.

‘I was surprised when he started following me on Twitter, and I got carried away,’ the fan is quoted as saying. ‘I didn’t realise he had a family at first. When he started talking about sex one thing led to another.

‘Before I knew it we were swapping pics of our tattoos, and then he started sending intimate photos of himself.’

The Mirror reported that Glynn initiated contact with the woman in question back in October, leading to months of late-night messaging – and even a failed plan to meet up in London.

‘I felt wanted,’ admitted the fan. ‘I love him when he appears on Saturday Kitchen.’

As of Sunday, the TV personality – who was responsible for landing Birmingham’s first Michelin star as head chef at local restaurant Jessica’s – appeared to have deleted his @Yummy_Brummie Twitter account.

In an interview with The Guardian back in 2015, Glynn had spoken of his love of spending quiet time at home with his partner and their children.

‘The second Sunday I’d spend at home – I love being there,’ he said. ‘About six years ago we moved out of the city into a house with an orchard, right next to a river.

‘I have a little treehouse, overlooking both, and I often sit up there, just gathering my thoughts, taking five minutes out of my busy life. So this is where I’d like to be, with my wife and kids.

‘I say my wife, even though technically we’re not married – we’ve been engaged for 18 years. Two restaurants, three kids, a cat and a dog later, I figure you just have to take your time.’

Before adding: ‘It’s so important that I get an early night and I’m really looking after myself’.

‘[Women are] self-conscious walking to the shops sometimes you know. I’ve just let all those things go, I’m eating the things I want to eat, I’m not worrying about my weight. I spend my life worrying about my weight, I do.’

The Mirror reports that Mel, 48, and Emily  had a ‘frosty’ relationship which led to a ‘tense’ argument during filming in the US.

A source told the publication: ‘Once on set, their personalities definitely clashed and there was one row that was witnessed by several crew members. There was no way back from that at the time.’

Branding filming incredibly difficult as the trio undertook tough physical challenges on the 800 mile trek.

However the pair seemed to have put their difficulties behind them, with the first source adding: ‘It was a bit of a pressure cooker environment but Mel and Emily have seen each other since and things were fine between them’.

A BBC Spokesperson said: ‘Trailblazers has not been “axed”. It was commissioned as a one off series following in the footsteps of Victorian explorer Isabella Bird across the Rocky Mountains’.

Earlier in March, Emily appeared on BBC Breakfast to discuss the campaign to introduce affirmative consent in relationships.

The actress explained how she wanted to bring about a change to sex consent laws for both men and women.

Emily said: ‘I’m six months [pregnant] and I wasn’t going to say this, but I am going to say this – I’m having a boy.’

She added: ‘So I want him to be a part of a really positive change and I want him to grow up knowing he can talk about these things openly and enjoy his life. I want him to be on the right side of history.’

Emily is backing a campaign by Right To Equality, to tighten the laws around sexual consent.

Affirmative consent means ‘anything less than a clear, uncoerced, and informed confirmation of consent like “yes” cannot qualify as consent in the eyes of the law.’

This means consent has to be clear communication of willingness, rather that the absence of a ‘no’, and can be withdrawn at any time and not be gained by threats, force or coercion.

It is hoped that the change will mean there is less onus on the victim to prove they did not consent, than on the accused, and increase the shockingly low rape conviction numbers in the UK – which was only 2 per cent from 2021 to 2022.

It comes after Emily gushed that she feels ‘overwhelmed with support’ following her surprise pregnancy announcement.

The actress has known her boyfriend Alistair for almost three decades as her mother Kate Robbins is the sister of Alistair’s stepmother Jane Garner.
