Karla Sofía Gascón has made her first appearance during awards season amid her bombshell tweet scandal.
On Friday, the 52-year-old Emilia Pérez star — who has skipped a string high profile plans due to controversy — attended the 50th annual César Awards in Paris, France for her nods in 12 categories, ultimately winning seven.
The Spanish actress modeled a black velvet gown with a glittering asymmetrical neckline, adorning her glamorous get-up with a transgender flag pin on the base of the left sleeve.
Her brunette ombre locks were pulled to the side and styled in loose waves, showing off her statement earrings and full face of makeup.
According to Variety, the Critics Choice award winner skipped the press line, flanked by two men who seemed to be security.
Her surprising appearance comes in the wake of a viral social media controversy after her racist, anti-Muslim and shade-throwing tweets resurfaced.

In recent weeks, social media sleuths dug up her old tweets prior to her landing the major role and dating as far back as 2016.
Gascón was condemned by many social media users after they discovered the many shocking and controversial remarks she previously made on X, formerly Twitter.
In addition to denigrating Islam, she also said George Floyd a ‘drug addict and a hustler’ and called her co-star Selena Gomez was a ‘rich rat’ prior to working on Emilia Pérez with her.
She later deactivated the account, defended herself in multiple statements and interviews, then ultimately apologized and pledged silence in an Instagram post in early February.
‘As someone in a marginalized community, I know this suffering all too well and I am deeply sorry to those I have caused pain,’ she said in a statement released via Netflix.
‘All my life I have fought for a better world. I believe light will always triumph over darkness.’
Netflix has since removed Gascón from a new poster that was released after the Oscar nominations and after the controversy first surfaced.
With the Oscars just hours away, the musical crime thriller has received 13 nods for the upcoming awards ceremony — which she previously called ‘an ugly, ugly gala’ in one of her shocking tweets — and is up for Best Picture at the show.
