Ellie Taylor has opened up about going back to work after just eight weeks of maternity leave, as she gushed over her ‘fella’ for staying at home with the baby.
The comedian, 40, welcomed her son in November with her husband Australian CNN reporter Phil Black.
Returning to work on Sunday following her short maternity leave, Ellie took to her Instagram story to share a mirror selfie with the baby and discuss how she felt about it.
‘First day back to work for me,’ she said. ‘Eight weeks mat leave is not what anyone dreams of is it but there you go. Left my husband with a crying baby at 5am.
‘I’ve been so worried about leaving him with such a full plate (quite an intense schedule of nights away for next six weeks) but my fella has been so chill about it.’

Appreciative of her husband, Ellie added: Lord bless the stay at home parents who let the other parent do what they need to do. And with grace.’
She then shared a second Instagram story of the same picture so she could talk more about the situation.
Ellie said: ‘Feeling very grateful. And incredibly guilty. But also won’t pretend I’m not looking forward to getting my make-up done and sleeping in a hotel room.
‘And you know what, I’m going to really try to enjoy it because otherwise, what’s the blardyyy point.’
Ellie gave birth to her second child with Phil – who she also shares daughter Valentina, five, with, in November.
She announced the joyful news on Instagram as she shared a picture of herself in hospital lying with her adorable little one.
She said her baby had been a ‘surprise early arrival’ as she posted a pregnant snap of herself in the outfit she was meant to be wearing for the Royal Variety Performance on Thursday night.
But she shared that she will no longer be able to perform her stand-up gig at the glitzy event because she has given birth to her second child earlier than expected.

Ellie also shared a picture of herself lying in bed in hospital as she cradled her newborn baby, who was bundled up in a red knitted hat and a blanket.
She explained: ‘This is the fabulous outfit I was meant to be wearing tonight while doing stand-up at the @royalvarietyperformance in front of 4,000 people, including @princeandprincessofwales.
‘Swipe to see the actual outfit I’ll be wearing tonight due to the surprise early arrival of my own little HRH…
‘Gutted to miss out but also very very happy to be wearing giant mesh knickers and saying ‘But his skin is just so SOFT!’ ten times an hour.
‘Mother and baby doing well because mummy has access to morphine and baby has access to boobies.
‘Wishing the rest of the performers the best night for a fantastic cause! Wishing me 12 hours sleep and a massive Pina Colada (not with the morphine, don’t worry…)’
