Talks of romance rumours have surrounded the couple for weeks. 

Yet despite all the kisses, moments of PDA and the professional dancer calling the actress his ‘diamond’, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola have not publicly confirmed their romance. 

And reports are now claiming the couple are in fact not dating, and are faking their romance to gain popularity on the competition. 

According to The Sun a source revealed that their close relationship is just a ‘showmance’ and has no truth behind it. 

They said: ‘Vito is an experienced pro, and knows what he’s doing. He and Ellie had an instant friendship and a great connection, but it definitely wasn’t sexual.’

The source went on to suggest that once Vito realised the attention the couple’s intimate connection was receiving from the public the pair decided to run with it. 

They continued: ‘Vito especially was keen to let people jump to their own conclusions. 

‘By letting people think they’re together, the hope is they’ll further endear themselves to the nation.’

Meanwhile the couple continued to fuel romance rumours as they put on a cosy display on Strictly’s spin-off show It Takes Two on Wednesday.

The pair sent fans wild with their passionate Argentine Tango performance on Saturday night with viewers convinced they were close to kissing as they lingered in hold after the dance ended.

And Vito, 31, and Ellie, 22, did little to quash speculation as they put on a tactile display with the professional dancer touching her arm and calling her a ‘shiny diamond’.

In a video tape which played on the show Vito called Ellie a ‘shiny diamond’ who was ready for the ‘perfect ring’.

He said: ‘I see Ellie like a rough diamond and you see this diamond shining and shining and shining and then it’s ready to be put on the perfect ring.’

The two will perform the Quickstep to Belle from Beauty And The Beast for musicals week.

It comes after Ellie and Vito shared a joint post on Instagram where they posed together for several cosy snaps.

In one snap, Vito wrapped his arms around Ellie and rested his head on hers while in another, he held her face while leaning in for a kiss.

Alongside the post, he wrote: ‘Live the present and be grateful for what you have in life. Be happy for waking up every morning and appreciate the small things. This makes the real Happiness’.

‘These are the words that Lulú and I keep repeating to each other.’

Ellie commented on the post and wrote: ‘Always live in the present and appreciate the little things so lucky and grateful for this experience with you xxx’.
