Elle King got candid about her complicated relationship with her father Rob Schneider.
The 35-year-old Ex’s & Oh’s hitmaker called the former Saturday Night Live castmember, 60, ‘not nice’ as she slammed him for his controversial comments about the LGTBQ+ community during her recent appearance on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast.
‘I disagree with a lot of the things that he says,’ the singer said of Schneider in a clip from the episode. ‘You’re talking out of your a** and you’re talking sh** about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights. And it’s like, get f*****.’
King shared that she goes for ‘four or five years without talking’ to the comedian and admitted that she ‘doesn’t want to be associated’ with him in any way.
‘He’s just not nice,’ she added. ‘You can want someone to change so much. You can’t control anyone else’s actions and you can’t control people’s feelings. All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Schneider for comment.
Raised in Ohio by her mother, London King, and stepfather Justin Tesa, Elle went on to say she reconnected with Rob as an adult after a strained childhood relationship.
During her younger years, the rare moments Elle spent with Rob were often on movie sets, where she frequently felt overlooked amidst the chaos.
‘I would just get lost in the shuffle,’ she explained. ‘If I ever messed up a shot, if I ever was talking, I would get in f****** trouble.’
King then recalled, ‘My dad forgot about every single birthday. I spent my 18th birthday in a summer school and they brought me cupcakes and I came home and my dad forgot my birthday.’
A major point of contention between King and Schneider centered around her appearance, particularly her weight and tattoos.
‘I was, like, a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp. And then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and I didn’t lose any weight,’ she explained.
‘Very toxic and very silly,’ she added.
‘I had already started getting tattooed and it was like 108 degrees. So I had to wear sweaters because my dad was very anti-tattoos or any form of self-expression.’

‘I would try letters, I would try soft, I will try yelling. He’s just like, “well see look you’re yelling.”‘
In 2018, King revealed to People that she had built a closer bond with Schneider following the end of a tumultuous marriage and her battles with substance abuse and mental health struggles.
The current status of King and her father’s relationship remains uncertain, though they last shared a public moment together on stage at Elle’s New Year’s Eve concert in Nashville.
