Badlands will mark the sixth installment of the popular sci-fi franchise that kicked off with John McTiernan directing Arnold Schwarzenegger, the late Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura as commandos being stalked in a jungle by a deadly extraterrestrial hunter.

In the film she teams up with a young Predator outcast named Dek, played by Dimitrius.
Together, they must survive a deadly planet and search for the ultimate adversary.
Trachtenberg’s new Predator movie will be set ‘sometime in the future.’
He first achieved critical and commercial success with the direct-to-Hulu release of Prey, earning it the title of the most-watched Hulu premiere.
The film took place in the year 1719, revolving around a young Comanche woman forced to battle for her survival against the extraterrestrial hunters known as ‘predators’.
‘It was exciting to tell a story that’s set 300 years in the past, but it was challenging to develop a creature that would feel at once older, but also far more advanced,’ Trachtenberg told Polygon in 2021.
‘I wanted it to feel much more like an alien creature than ever before, much more feral, ferocious, primal, and be less armored. So then all the technological advances needed to be through its arsenal, through its weaponry.’
Despite receiving mixed reviews, the original movie was a fan favorite, grossing $98.3 million worldwide on a budget of $15 million to $18 million.

Over time, it has been reevaluated and is now considered a classic in the action genre.
Three direct sequels followed: Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010) and The Predator (2018).
It also gave rise to the Alien vs. Predator films, featuring a crossover with the alien ‘xenomorph’ from Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic Alien.
In total, the Predator franchise has accumulated a global box office revenue of $750.8 million.
Elle and her sister Dakota, 31, recently posed for the October cover of Vanity Fair where they spoke about being former child stars and explained why they never went astray like most Tinseltown vets do.
‘Why aren’t they more…. ‘F***ed up?’ said Elle in the interview in response to how many want to perceive them.
She laughed then added: ‘We’re like, ‘We’re so f***ed up. You don’t even know the half.”
‘Even though we were young in this business, I don’t feel like I missed out on anything. People want us to feel like we missed out. They love that narrative.’
Elle made her big-screen debut in 2001 at the age of two as the younger version of Dakota’s character in I Am Sam.
The Fannings have since formed a production company called Lewellen Pictures
