Elle and Dakota Fanning Share Giggles on Sisters’ Night Out in Santa Monica

Elle and Dakota Fanning glammed up for a sisters’ night out together in California on Tuesday.

The Criminal Minds actress, 27, and her older sister, 31, were seen leaving Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica after enjoying a meal. 

Elle slipped into a stunning black dress for the occasion, teaming the look with a pair of coordinated heels and some eye-catching red lipstick. 

While Dakota looked effortlessly chic in a pair of baggy black trousers and a white blouse. 

The sisters seemed thrilled to be taking time away from their busy schedules to spend some time together, with Dakota and Elle all smiles as they were whisked away from the venue in a taxi.

Los Angeles’s Giorgio Baldi restaurant has been frequented by a host of Hollywood’s biggest stars over the years, with Rihanna, Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez all spotted enjoying the Italian cuisine.

And it seems it’s one of Elle’s favourite places to eat out too, with the former child star seen enjoying a date there only last month with her boyfriend Gus Wenner, 34.

The couple put on a loved-up display at the eatery in early June, with Elle and Gus pictured holding hands as they made their exit. 

The Maleficent actress looked dazzling once again in a scoop-neck black top, black slacks and a black coat for her date. 

Elle and Gus have been dating since November 2023, with the blonde stunner sharing a host of pictures of them together to her Instagram.  

They made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

Elle previously dated Max Minghella from 2018 to early 2023 after meeting on the set of School Spirit.

The actress confirmed their split in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in April 2023.

However, the breakup didn’t change her mindset on love.

‘I’m a hopeless romantic. I believe in love at first sight. Call me crazy, but I believe in those things. I feel that it’s my destiny,’ she said.

Elle and Dakota are currently working together with their joint production company Lewellen Pictures on the new AppleTV+ series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, based on the same-name novel by author Rufi Thorpe. 

It boasts a star-studded cast including Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle herself, and follows Margo Millet (Fanning) at age 20 as she struggles to raise an infant as a single mother on the verge of eviction. 

When her estranged father Jinx (Offerman) shows up on her doorstep asking for help, she agrees to let him move in but in exchange for help with childcare.

She later starts OnlyFans as an experiment and finds herself adopting some of her dad’s advice from the world of wrestling as she tries to navigate her sudden rise to fame.

Filming for the show is now believed to be finished, with the series expected to be released next year. 

Dakota is serving as executive producer for the project alongside David E. Kelley, Matthew Tinker, Nicole Kidman (who also stars), author Thorpe and more. 

The Fanning sisters co-founded their production company Lewellen Pictures in 2021, and they’ve ‘been working on it for the last few years.’  

‘Of course, we started as actors, and I think we both have this desire to develop our own projects and be really a part of things from the ground up,’ Dakota (born Hannah) explained on The Tonight Show last March.

‘And we’re super close, so I would never do it with anyone else. It has to be her.’
