Ekin-Su Culculoglu felt ‘bullied’ on Celebrity Big Brother, but has admitted it was her ‘own fault’.
The Love Island winner, 29, was accused of being fake and playing a role on the reality show, which led to her getting booed and receiving death threats after she left the house in March.
Ekin-Su has now said she was ‘not her best self’ after her split from long-term boyfriend and Love Island co-star Davide Sanclimenti, 29, in January – and she is ‘not proud’ of her appearance on the ITV show.
She told The Sun: ‘It was a wrong choice for me, but I can’t blame anybody but myself. I carried a lot of baggage into that show, and I projected a lot of what I was feeling outside of the house inside too.
‘I was fake in the house because I wasn’t being myself, I was in survival mode. It wasn’t because I had any kind of game plan, I just wasn’t being truthful about where I was in my head, what had just happened to me, the trauma I’d been through. People see right through that, I can understand why they thought I was fake.’

At the time, CBB was hit by several Ofcom complaints due to ‘treatment’ of Ekin-Su after fans claimed she was ‘bullied’ on Late & Live over claims she was ‘badly edited’.
Ekin-Su has now said that seconds before her exit chat with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, her family and friends told her that she had been ‘cancelled’ due to a bad edit.
The TV personality explained: ‘I didn’t have long between the boos and the exit chat and before I did my interview, my loved ones had taken me aside and told me, “Producers have ruined you, you’ve been cancelled, they’ve edited you so badly”.
‘Within seconds of being told this, I was sitting in front of AJ and Will for a chat. It isn’t an excuse at all but I felt so small, like a kid who was being told off. I messed up and blamed the edit off the back of my loved ones comments, but I shouldn’t have said it before watching back the show myself.’
Ekin-Su went onto admit that she felt like AJ and the crowd in the studio were all her ‘bullies in one place’ and she had ‘nowhere to hide’ during the ‘uncomfortable’ conversation.
The Turkish actress added that she didn’t know why ‘everyone seemed to hate’ her and it felt ‘like the world was against me’.
Since the appearance on CBB, host Will has reached out to Ekin-Su to invite her to an event, but she revealed she hasn’t spoken to AJ.
Ekin-Su concluded by revealing she ‘didn’t leave the house for days’ following the CBB stint but said the reality show did give her the ‘kick up the a*** she needed’ to get her head straight following her messy break-up.

It comes after Ekin-Su recalled the last time she slept with ex Davide, saying she knew then it would be the final time they would share a bed, branding their on/off relationship ‘toxic’.
Cracks appeared in her relationship with Davide less than a month after they won Love Island as a couple in the summer of 2022.
Hunky Davide was seen leaving a party with two blondes in August of that year.
When she asked him ‘how could you do this to me’, she claims he simply replied: ‘Excuse me?’
While filming their ITV2 show Homecomings, Ekin-Su said she saw pictures of Davide with females on his phone.
She claims she saw images of two blonde girls in his Manchester flat wearing his clothes.
Ekin-Su did not want to make anything of the situation at the time because they were being filmed.
The television personality went on to claim Davide cheated on her with a girl called Harriet Wilson, with Harriet contacting Ekin-Su to tell her.
Ekin-Su said that at another time Davide left his laptop open and she saw sexually explicit messages between him and a girl she herself had met on New Year’s Eve.
She said seeing those messages ‘broke something in me’.
Actress Ekin-Su said she did not want to be embarrassed amid the cheating allegations so did her best not to react publicly but also wanted to protect Davide.
Davide was later spotted snorting a suspicious white powder in Ibiza while Ekin-Su was at home in the UK.

When Ekin-Su went away in September last year to film the US version of The Traitors, she returned to the UK to learn Davide had been out partying in Manchester with her love rival Harriet.
It is also claimed he went on a secret holiday to Morocco with an OnlyFans model but did not tell Ekin-Su the truth when he returned.
Ekin-Su said she had a rude awakening when Davide disrespected her mother during a trip to Rome, Italy.
She said Davide had called paparazzi so he could get pictured making a fake proposal to her in front of the Colosseum in the city.
Ekin-Su said her mother was furious as she knew her daughter was desperate for him to propose to her for real, adding that Davide told her mother to ‘f**k off’ when the moment did not go to his liking.
However, they stayed together as they had a ski trip planned and Ekin-Su felt attached to him due to feelings of guilt.
She insists she never betrayed Davide but there were times when she was furious and did react, with the pair arguing.
