Eamonn Holmes shared a loving tribute to his dog Maggie on Sunday after a custody battled during his bitter divorce from Ruth Langsford.

The former golden couple of TV shocked the nation last year when they announced that they were divorcing after 14 years.

As part of their separation, the couple were said to be locked in a custody battle over the ownership of their beloved pet pooch.

Eamonn, 65, shared two pictures of himself with the Border Collie cross the former couple adopted back in 2011 taken almost two decades apart.

He wrote: ’17 years apart …… and we are both still going – JUST.’

Ruth has regularly shared updates of Maggie at home with her and Eamonn posted a video of himself spending time with the dog earlier this year. It is unknown what their official arrangement is for taking care of Maggie.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘Maggie is like a daughter to them. They dote on her. But she’s getting on and they know she needs stability.’

The source added: ‘It’s a case of who can give [Maggie stability]. Eamonn adores her and Maggie’s been such a support during his health woes. The thought of giving her up is heartbreaking to him.

‘But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split.’

Eamonn’s fans were curious over the arrangement with Maggie and asked in the comments section: ‘Do you still see Maggie?’ and ‘Wish you could you be together’.

Others, meanwhile, said that Eamonn was lucky to have spent so long with his dog.

They wrote: ‘So lucky to still have Maggie after all that time.’; ‘Is she 17? She’s doing so well.’

The post comes soon after Eamonn reportedly took a brutal ‘swipe’ at Ruth while gushing over his new girlfriend Katie Alexander.

The TV presenter found love with Katie, 43, following his divorce from Ruth, 65, in May 2024, when they split after 14 years of marriage and two decades together.

Eamonn and Katie have not been shy of showing off their affections for one another and looked very loved-up at GB News star Nana Akua’s engagement party last month.

While attending the glitzy party, Eamonn seemingly took a swipe at his ex-wife Ruth while discussing his blossoming new relationship, according to Bella Magazine.

Eamonn is reported to have described Katie as his ‘soulmate’, before adding: ‘In sickness you find out who is there for you.’

A source told Bella magazine of his remark: ‘It was an insensitive comment from Eamonn, but he’s smitten with Katie and does feel like she has been there for him through the hard times.

‘That said, it is a kick in the teeth for Ruth because she has been there for him since the beginning.’

Eamonn has battled a number of health problems in recent years, including a double hip replacement surgery, slipped discs and ongoing spinal problems.

MailOnline has contacted Eamonn’s representatives for comment.

Eamonn and Katie grew close last summer and began dating soon after, with engagement rumours even swirling in December.
