He moved viewers to tears with his performance on Channel 4’s The Piano last Sunday.
And 80-year-old Duncan gushed over his beloved wife Fran after his emotional performance which he dedicated to her.
Duncan, who was diagnosed with dementia six years ago, impressed the crowd as well as host Claudia Winkleman and judges Mika and Lang Lang as he played at Manchester Piccadilly station in last week’s episode.
He explained how he is still able to play but the couple spoke of how life has changed for both him and Fran since his diagnosis.
And appearing on This Morning on Tuesday, Duncan gushed over his wife as he confessed: ‘We are a pair of softies with our love’.

The pair have been married for 42 years with Duncan showcasing his love through music as he wrote a song for Fran.
Speaking about how it felt to hear the song, Fran confessed: ‘It was amazing when he first played it for me. I thought it was beautiful, it was very romantic I never thought I would have a piece of music made for me.’
Meanwhile Duncan revealed how he found being on the show as he added: ‘I took it in my stride, I loved the experience having a crowd around me.’
Although he had never played professionally before, the 80-year-old confessed he had always had a love for music.
He explained: ‘Over the years I always had this strong feeling of why on earth am I a solicitor, I always had a love for music.’
‘It’s a real healing tool for him, it bridges over the fragmented thoughts and memories, it’s magical,’ added Fran.
During Sunday’s episode, Fran spoke about Duncan’s dementia diagnosis as she said: ‘There is a vulnerability there now that wasn’t there before and there is an awful lot more that I need to do… the future is unknown.
‘Duncan is everything to me, I would have him in any situation rather than not have him.’

Duncan took to the piano at Manchester Piccadilly station to play a song dedicated to his wife, named Theme for Fran.
He said: ‘It just gives me such total feeling about the girl I found and the girl I married, the girl I love and always will.’
After Duncan’s performance, presenter Claudia told Mika and Lang Lang: ‘He is going to the concert, it is not a debate.
‘It is important to have somebody like that and the fact he can speak through the piano.’
At the end of the episode, Mika and Lang Lang did choose Duncan to go through to the final, leaving the musician shocked.
He said: ‘I am absolutely stunned, I think it will change my feelings for the future because I’ve always had this secret dream of somebody saying yeah, I really like.’
The Piano airs on Channel 4 on Sundays at 9pm.
