Grammy-winning singer Duffy has sent fans into a frenzy after hinting at a sensational return to music — years after stepping out of the spotlight. 

The Mercy hitmaker, who largely disappeared from the charts following her meteoric rise, and a reported move to sign with a 'new manager'.

The chart-topping star, now 41, is said to be quietly plotting her next chapter behind the scenes, with insiders teasing that a 'new era' could be on the horizon. 

And with renewed attention following the upcoming documentary, fans are convinced the reclusive pop icon may finally be ready to reclaim her place in the spotlight.

Reports emerged that the Welsh singer 'has now quietly joined forces with a manager from TaP Music', the same firm that represents , Loreen and , according to The Sun.

And she has also reportedly re-hired the same publicity company she worked with the first time around, MBC PR.

'Duffy's made it clear in the past that she did not intend to make a return to music, but things change behind the scenes,' an insider told the publication.

'She wouldn't be taking on new teams if she didn't intend to step back into music, so the whole industry is abuzz with what she is planning.

'By the sound of it, there could well be new music from her before the end of the year.'

Daily Mail has contacted Duffy's representatives for a comment. 

The Distant Dreamer hitmaker is set to reveal the full story behind her horrific rape and kidnapping ordeal as she returns to the spotlight with a new documentary full of 'pain, vulnerability and defiance'.

The songwriter shocked fans back in February 2020 when she opened up about the terrifying ordeal for the first time in an open letter called The 5th House, Duffy, which she posted on her Instagram page.

On Wednesday, March 25, Disney+ announced that it will be making a Hulu Original  documentary about what the pop star went through.

The doc – produced by Fernando De Jesus for Rare TV – will include 'unprecedented access to Duffy', as well as interviews with loved ones and those in the music industry. 

The official press release states: 'In the late 2000s, Duffy was one of the biggest names in music, with her multi-platinum album Rockferry and its lead single Mercy hitting the top of the charts across the globe.

'Everything was looking up. And then she disappeared. 

'For ten years, Duffy vanished from the music scene, from social media, from the public eye, without a word. 

'Then in 2020, Duffy published a harrowing post on her social media. She revealed that a decade earlier, she had been drugged, before being kidnapped and taken to another country, where she was violently and sexually abused.

'It had a devastating ripple effect across her entire life, cutting her off from the world.
