Dua Lipa fans speculate Trevor Noah’s praise for former flame’s racy performance at Grammys 2024 as attempt to reconcile

Dua Lipa fans are convinced Trevor Noah was ‘trying to get her back’ while praising her performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

After she kicked off the show by performing alongside of number of scantily-clad dancers, the 28-year-old pop star, who is dating Callum Turner, received a rave review from her ex-boyfriend.

‘Wow! Are you kidding me? Come on, give it up, y’all! That was amazing! Dua Lipa!’ the South African comedian said following the performance as he urged the crowd to applaud.

He continued: ‘That is why she is one of the best performers of a generation! I’m never going to look at scaffolding the same. Did you see that thing?’

While on stage, Lipa’s dancers did pull-ups and other exercises on a jungle-gym like metal structure as she sang her tracks, Training Season and Houdini.

‘Trevor Noah announcing Dua Lipa to start this off is SO funny,’ one X user wrote. 

Another mused about being ‘old enough to remember that Trevor Noah went on a date with Dua Lipa.’ 

A third asked if we are just going to ‘just gloss by’ how the former couple use to date. 

Others couldn’t believe that Noah was expected to introduce his ex at the award show as they declared the introduction ‘crazy.’ 

In late 2022, Lipa and Noah were romantically linked after they were seen locking lips in exclusive images obtained by DailyMail.com. 

An onlooker told DailyMail.com: ‘They were quietly sat away from everyone else at restaurant. It was clear they were into each other and sat close together throughout the meal. They left together and walked, stopping for long embraces and on the second kiss with hugs.’ 

Dua previously dated model Anwar Hadid, the younger brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid. 

The two reportedly began dating in June of 2019, shortly after she split from her previous boyfriend. At the time, TMZ reported that the two developed a connection after Anwar played her some of the music he had been working on.

After word got out that the Levitating singer was single, the two started dating and were spotted cozying up at award shows and at his birthday.

At the start of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the two even quarantined together.

‘I’m very comfortable in the relationship, more so than any others,’ she told Rolling Stone in her cover story for the February 2021 issue. ‘[We] wake up around 9:00, 9:30, shower, get dressed, have a bit of breakfast, take the dog out on a really nice long walk, maybe do some yoga, make some lunch, hang out, watch a movie, play with the animals.’ 

But the two reportedly would break up and then get back together on and off throughout the relationship, and they were on the rocks by late 2021 due to increased travel keeping them apart.

They were said to have called it quits — seemingly for good — in December of last year.

Prior to her relationship with Anwar, Dua dated the chef and model Isaac Carew from 2015 until early 2017.

She moved on to a brief relationship with Paul Klein, the frontman of the rock band LANY, before getting back together with Carew in early 2018. They broke up a final time in May 2019.

Trevor’s most recent serious relationship was with the actress Minka Kelly. In September 2020, it was reported that they had been dating for some time, even quarantining together early in the pandemic. 

They paused the tumultuous relationship in May 2021, only to be seen together again later that month.

The comedian and the TV star were more open about the relationship as the year progressed, but it fizzled out by May of this year.

Although their don’t appear to have been previous signs that Dua and Trevor are dating, they may have had a high-profile meeting at the Grammy Awards ceremony in Las Vegas in April of this year.
