Dua Lipa has sent fans wild after releasing a phone number to her account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Posting on the social media platform, the singer wrote ‘text me’, accompanied by a red lipstick emoji and the number +1 (917) 810-3415.
That area code is for the city of New York, and follows a number of similar moves by other celebrities to increase interactions with their fans.
Stars including Lewis Capaldi, Jake Paul and Ashton Kutcher have all used the service in the past as a marketing ploy to boost their income in an unusual way while increasing fan engagement.
Kutcher previously released an automated reply, which read: ‘Ashton here. This is an auto-text to let you know I got your message, the rest will be from me. Click the link so I can respond to you. I likely can’t respond to everything but I’ll try to be in touch. Dream bigger.’

Due to complex algorithms on social media platforms, celebrities have turned to apps such as Community, as they look to maintain the focus and engagement of their most ardent and loyal fans.
Community was born out of another company, Shimmur, which was founded by Matthew Peltier and Josh Rosenheck in 2014.
It was meant to be a mobile app similar to Reddit that allowed users to create and upload content about their favorite YouTubers and influencers.
A post on Community’s website about the history of the company reads: ‘Community is the SMS customer engagement platform that connects businesses, brands, political & public figures, creators, musicians, celebrities, and more, to their audiences at scale through a unique 10-digit phone number.
‘Community is led by President and CEO, Diankha Linear, who oversees its expansion to welcome Fortune 500 and the most innovative Enterprise companies onto its platform. The company was founded in 2019 by Guy Oseary, Ashton Kutcher, Matthew Peltier, and Josh Rosenheck. In 2022, Robert Wolf joined as Community’s Chairman.’
