Drew Barrymore isn’t afraid of rolling up her sleeves to get some work done around her house.
The E.T. star, 50, is in the throes of renovating her New York City apartment and has clearly been enjoying tearing down her residence from the ground up.
‘This was very therapeutic,’ she captioned her latest video documenting her construction efforts.
But fans were alarmed by the sight of Drew driving a hammer into one of her kitchen shelves – which was dangerously close to her glass cups.
Drew was laser-focused in her efforts to remove the shelf from her kitchen wall, using both the hammer and a drill to remove it.
After she posted the video, Jonathan Scott of the Property Brothers offered to help Drew in her construction efforts after seeing just how close she was hammering next to the glasses.

Drew Barrymore alarmed fans after they noticed the close proximity of her hammer to her glassware
‘Seeing that full shelf of glasses right above where you’re doing demolition, and remembering back to the demolition mishap you had on our show. I’m thinking I need to come back there and give you a hand. Lol,’ he wrote, along with a laughing-crying and heart emoji.
‘I’m scared for those cups,’ another wrote, garnering 886 ‘likes’ from those in agreement.
‘Omg move the glassware woman! Even as inanimate objects I could feel their fear!’ another wrote with a laughing-crying emoji.
‘Oh my gosh, that hammer getting so close to the glasses on that shelf gave me so much anxiety,’ another wrote.
‘shouldn’t the kitchen be cleared out before renovations,’ another wrote.
Drew clearly heard the concern, as she clarified in her Instagram Stories: ‘No cups broke!! I promise!! I will move them next time.’
The Charlie’s Angels star has been showing off her home renovations as of late, and last month shared video of just how much of an emotional rollercoaster the construction has been.
‘The many emotions of starting a home project. Why do I do this to myself??’ she captioned the post.
She also earned praise from fans who felt the residence was very ‘normal’ for her fame and wealth.

Drew went viral on TikTok for the same reason last year after she shared a clip of herself cooking and tidying up her home, with viewers claiming they didn’t know it was ‘possible’ an A-lister such as Drew could live in a ‘normal house.’
The star is frequently praised for her down-to-earth attitude and on the social media app, she offered up yet another example of how she shies away from the stereotypical celebrity lifestyle.
The actress was applauded for her ‘modest’ home, with many viewers voicing their surprise that the multi-millionaire had such a ‘small’ cooking space – while others admitted that they had expected to see Drew living in a much more over-the-top mansion.
She captioned the viral video ‘I love staying in.’
As she cooked, tried clothes on, and showed herself eating the background audio said: ‘I like staying in. I know everyone thinks it’s boring but it’s really not.

The video also showed her renovating other areas of her New York City apartment

Fans such as Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott expressed their concern over the close proximity of Drew’s hammer to the glassware

‘It’s the least boring thing. I’m a really happy little hermit. I love being at home . I never want to go anywhere.’
The video featured glimpses of her home, which she previously told the LA Times was in between New York City and the Hamptons, having relocated from Los Angeles to the East Coast so that her children could be closer to their father, her ex Will Kopelman.
People flooded the comments section and praised her for her humble abode.
One person said: ‘You give off the vibes of you bought your first apartment and you are still there, so wholesome and cute.’
Someone else added: ‘Is it possible that you live in a normal house?!’
Another person commented: ‘Wait, you don’t have a chef?’
