Drew Barrymore has shared that she is not happy she was lied to by a man on a dating app.
The Charlie’s Angels actress said on Friday’s episode of her talk show that someone she was interested in romantically fibbed when he said he was a football player.
In reality, he was a musician.
The 48-year-old ET star was so upset she is thinking of going off dating apps altogether.
‘This guy on my dating app said he was the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams,’ the Playboy cover girl began.
The real quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams is John Matthew Stafford, 35, who is married to Kelly Hall.
‘So I wrote to him and I was like, “Oh my God, I went to the first practice game. I was so frustrated being a girl from Los Angeles who loves football and we didn’t have any teams. And then I moved away to New York and then we got two teams. And it’s nice to meet you, my name is Drew.”‘

She added, ‘He was not the quarterback for the L.A. Rams — he’s a musician that thought he was being cute. How should I feel about this?’
The story was relayed on the Friday episode of her afternoon talk show as she shared with co-host Ross Matthews the incident sickened her.
‘Every time I get on there it does not feel great. I always last five days,’ said Barrymore about online dating.
‘And this time my app has changed where it shows people like you so it’s very flattering… But I don’t know who anyone is, and it just feels scary to go out with a stranger.’
‘Newsflash that is how they work!’ said Matthews. ‘You’re not supposed to know them. You don’t go on a dating app to meet people you already know.’
Ross said, ‘You should feel lied too, robbed. I had a fantasy you’d be like the new Taylor Swift and you’d be at the games.’
‘Well, we’re also going to the Super Bowl, and I was like, “Oh, maybe I could meet…”
‘I wasn’t trying to land a football player. I was excited to talk about that I had been at the Coliseum to see their first game in Los Angeles.

‘And then the guy was like, “Hey, Drewski,” and I was like, “I hate you… You pithy, deceiving, playful — you’ve made me feel stupid. I don’t know who you are. I feel so dumb. Why did we have to get off on this foot? I hate you!”‘ she shared.
This comes just as Sharon Stone has opened up about her experiences on dating apps such as a Tinder and Bumble.
She admitted that she once found herself on a date with a ‘heroin addict’ who ordered absinthe at a bar.
The Basic Instinct siren, 65, has said she is looking for love and a ‘connection’ over a quick one-night stand in a candid new interview with The Times.
Stone shares that many of the recent dates she’s had have been from online dating, including a former convict and ‘a heroin addict who’s clearly 20,000 heroin injections later than the picture he sent me.’
The date with the alleged addict took place at the Hotel Bel-Air but didn’t last long.
‘I tell the waiter, “I’ll have a glass of water.” He had a cocktail: absinthe or something. And I said, “I’m sorry, I can’t stay,”‘ Stone – who was once blocked on Bumble – recalled.

Stone is hoping to find a real ‘connection’ on the apps: ‘I didn’t want to just go on Tinder and f*** somebody. Do you know what I mean? It’s so easy to f*** somebody. You don’t have to go on Tinder; you go to f***ing Coffee Bean. It’s not hard,’ she explained.
Not every dating experience Sharon had turned into a cautionary tale, with the actress beginning two relationships during COVID.
The relationships remained online, but Stone recalled how she helped the men get through their own recent break-ups.
‘I was almost like a therapist,’ she said. ‘One whose wife told him she wanted a divorce and they had two little kids. He was struggling to process it. And [the other] had broken up with his girlfriend. She had gotten pregnant and instead of marrying, she got an abortion … He was still very much in love with her and I helped him process it. It was really rewarding for both of us. I don’t know how to explain it.’
Stone displayed her bikini body on Instagram last year
But this year Sharon hopes will be different: ‘This is the year that I want to fall in love — 100 percent,’ she said.
When it comes to her next partner, Sharon doesn’t have a list of qualifications.
‘I don’t look for anything. I’ve never looked for anything. Because I don’t think that’s what happens. You’re standing somewhere, someone walks up and starts talking to you and you turn around and think, “What?” And the next thing you know, two years have gone by.’
‘You don’t look for a list and then your list arrives. That’s what people do who don’t have relationships. So that they can comfort themselves with the fact that they don’t have a relationship and feel that they’re actively making an effort towards that happening in their lives.’
Sharon was married to screenwriter Michael Greenburg from 1984 to 1987.
She then wed journalist Phil Bronstein from 1998 until 2004, with whom she raises son Roan, 23.
The star adopted two sons, Quinn, 17, and Laird, 18, on her own.
