Drake replaces Kendrick Lamar for the top spot on the Billboard 200 in latest twist of their feud

On Sunday, Drake officially scored his 14th No. 1 hit record on the Billboard 200 chart with Some Sexy Songs 4 U, his collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, which dropped on Valentine’s Day.

The Canadian 38-year-old managed to replace his nemesis Kendrick Lamar, whose sixth studio album GNX just fell to the No. 3 spot after 13 consecutive weeks on the chart.

Drake (born Aubrey Graham) and the Canadian 31-year-old (born Jahron Brathwaite) amassed 287M on-demand streams and 25K album sales, which equates to 246K equivalent album units in the US for the week ending last Thursday – according to Billboard’s Luminate data.

The five-time Grammy winner now ties with Taylor Swift and Jay-Z for the most No. 1 hit records in the 69-year history of the Billboard 200 chart – only The Beatles scored more with 19.

Drake spent much of last year embroiled in a brutal public feud with Kendrick – releasing four diss tracks (Push Ups, Taylor Made Freestyle, Family Matters, and The Heart Part 6) poking fun of his 5ft5in stature, domestic/sex abuse allegations, 50% record deal, as well as his collaborations with Swift and Maroon 5.

Lamar seemingly won the battle after releasing five diss tracks (Like That, Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Meet the Grahams, and Not Like Us) accusing the OVO Sound co-founder of Ozempic use, pedophilia, and having an illegitimate 11-year-old daughter.

On November 25, Drake took their rap beef to a new level when he sued Universal Music Group for allegedly using an illegal ‘bots and a payola scheme’ in order to artificially inflate the streaming numbers of the 37-year-old Pulitzer Prize-winning poet’s diss track Not Like Us.

The rap rivals surprisingly started out amicable collaborating on the Stake paid partner’s 2011 album Take Care, Kendrick’s 2012 track Poetic Justice, and A$AP Rocky’s 2013 track F***** Problems.

The talented twosome even happily toured together in 2012 during Drake’s $42.6M-grossing, 65-date Club Paradise Tour.

Kendrick and the Nokia rapper’s ex SZA will kick off their 39-date co-headlining Grand National Tour on April 19 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN.

Meanwhile, Drake is next scheduled to bring his 16-date Anita Max Win Tour to Australia’s Brisbane Entertainment Centre this Monday and Tuesday.

The Emmy-nominated producer also oversees production on the eight-episode third season of Sam Levinson’s Max drama Euphoria, which began filming February 10.

On the personal front, Drake is father to seven-year-old son Adonis Mahbed Graham with French painter Sophie Brussaux.
