Big Brother Australia delivered a shock double eviction on Sunday night, sending two housemates packing in one dramatic live episode.
The Channel Ten reality TV series featured an eviction line-up with three of the Gold Coast house’s most outspoken personalities.
Up for elimination for the second week running was Jane, a retired Trump-loving grandmother from Victoria, who led the nomination tally with 14 points.
Hot on her heels was the ‘spicy’ Sri Lankan Mia with 13 votes, followed by Queensland social worker Allana, who scored 10 points.
The Australian public ultimately chose Jane as the first housemate to leave.
Speaking to host Mel Tracina after her exit, Jane admitted her stint had been challenging: ‘It was hard because every day in the house I’d been nominated, it’s been really quite difficult. Today was just, “Oh, the emotions”.’

However, the grandma was looking forward to a happier moment outside the house.Â
‘My granddaughter will be so excited I will be at her kindergarten graduation,’ Jane said.
Although viewers were aware of the looming double eviction, the housemates were kept in the dark.Â
In a further twist, one lucky Big Brother fan was given the power to choose who between Allana and Mia would next be evicted – and they picked Mia.
‘I was devastated that Jane was gone, but I was like Australia has saved me,’ Mia told Mel after leaving.Â
‘But that’s the thing with Big Brother… there’s always a twist. I had a feeling it was gonna be a double eviction… I was right.’
Jane’s time in the Dreamworld house had also been dramatic.Â
The 67-year-old, the 13th and final housemate to enter after a public vote, had multiple clashes with younger housemates Vincent, Colin, and Bruce after feeling ‘disrespected’.

Last week, drama hit a peak after the Channel Ten series said goodbye to its first housemate.
Controversial contestant Michael Downs was evicted and set tongues wagging after issuing a scathing final message regarding new couple Holly and Colin.Â
Before leaving the house, the 47-year-old left a farewell missive for his fellow Big Brother participants – and he didn’t hold back when it came to the much-talked-about romance.Â
Michael revealed that he didn’t think Colin, 21, and Holly’s, 31, connection would survive outside of the house, adding the model was ‘playing a game’ by starting a relationship with the hopeful MMA fighter.Â
He went on to say she had the aim of getting ‘more notoriety outside of the house’ through the on-screen alliance.
