Dolly Parton wants to clock in for Jennifer Aniston’s highly-anticipated 9 to 5 remake.

When asked if she is excited about the reboot, the country legend, 78, revealed she is hoping to make a cameo in the project, alongside pals Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, who also starred in the original.

‘I’m hoping they use my song, and I’m hoping they might find a way to have Lily, Jane and me come back in,’ she gushed to E! News on Monday.

Additionally, the Jolene hitmaker recalled speaking to the Friends star, 55, about possibly getting involved in a remake of her 1980 comedy film, originally directed by Colin Higgins, back in 2018.

‘Years ago, when we did the movie Dumplin’, there was some mention she might want to do 9 to 5, and I said, “Oh, that would be great,”‘ Parton said, referencing the last time they crossed paths professionally.

While the 10-time Grammy winner did not appear in the film, Dumplin’, which starred Aniston and Danielle Macdonald, Parton allowed the film to use her existing music, and created a new track with Sia for the movie.

During the interview, Parton also suggested that her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, take on her role as Doralee Rhodes.

‘Wouldn’t she be great? Well, she knows me. She knows the memories that I have [from the movie],’ the singer said.

As she reflected on the success of 9 to 5, Parton said it’s ‘a wonderful thing to be able to be part of something that’s been that powerful through the years.’

‘It’s really amazing to be part of something that really can change the course of life for anybody. I really think this brought a lot of attention to [gender] equality,’ the  Tennessee native continued.

In addition to starring in the film, she wrote her song 9 to 5 for the movie’s soundtrack, which ultimately earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song in 1981.

Meanwhile, Fonda, who played Judy Bernly in the film, told Entertainment Tonight that she wished the team behind the remake ‘good luck.’

‘It’s fun. I wish them a lot of luck. They’re very talented,’ the two-time Oscar winner, 86, said last week.

Meanwhile, Tomlin, 84, also told the outlet that she was ‘very excited’ about the reboot and ‘pleased to know that someone else is working on it.’

‘May they have successful fruition,’ she added.

Previously, Parton said in 2019 that she, Tomlin and Fonda had ‘dropped that whole idea’ of doing a sequel together.

‘I don’t think we’re going to do the sequel. We never could get the script where it was enough different than the first one, and that one turned out so good,’ she told ET.

In April, it was revealed that Aniston would be producing a a ‘reimagining’ of the original film.

The new film is expected to be written by screenwriter Diablo Cody, who is best known for collaborating on several films with director Jason Reitman, including Juno (2007).

Cody most recently wrote Zelda Williams’ feature-length directorial debut, the horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein, which stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse.

She is said to be working on the newest draft of the 9 To 5 remake, though it’s unclear if the project originated with a different screenwriter.

More recently she has produced both of the Murder Mystery films that she costarred with Adam Sandler in, and she has served as an executive producer on her Apple TV+ series The Morning Show. Aniston was also an EP on the popular Friends reunion.

Although the remake will presumably mirror the plot of the original film to some extent, details about the script are being closely guarded.

The original was directed by Colin Higgins, who co-wrote it with Patricia Resnick, based on a story by Resnick.

Fonda starred as a newly single housewife who takes up an office job after her husband leaves her.

Tomlin played a senior supervisor at the company who has been passed over in favor of less-qualified male co-workers, while Parton made her debut as a bubbly secretary who is shunned by her colleagues after her sexual harasser boss (Dabney Coleman) makes up a workplace rumor that he has been having an affair with her.

The trio eventually decided to get revenge on their boss, leading them to consider murdering him.

The film received mildly positive reviews, but it was a hit with audiences, and it eventually grossed over $103 million against a budget of less than $10 million.

Parton’s theme song went on to top the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, and it ranked at number nine on the Hot 100’s year-end chart.

Following the success of 9 To 5, a sitcom of the same name aired on ABC from 1982 to 1983, before being revived with a slightly different cast in first-run syndication from 1986 to 1988.

Aniston’s work as a producer goes back to the late 2000s, and she has starred in most of the films she has produced, including The Switch (2010), Cake (2014) and Dumplin’ (2018), which featured new and classic songs written and performed by Parton.

The Friends star and Macdonald even joined Parton on-screen for a trio version of her song Push And Pull.
