Diff’rent Strokes star Todd Bridges announces he’s divorcing his wife of three years

Diff’rent Strokes star Todd Bridges revealed on Wednesday that he and his wife Bettijo Hirschi are splitting up.

The 60-year-old former child star announced that the two are planning to divorce three years after tying the knot.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Bridges for comment.

‘After much thought and mutual respect, we have decided to end our marriage,’ Bridges said in a statement to TMZ

‘During our time together we shared meaningful moments, but have chosen to go our separate ways. I ask for privacy and wish her nothing but love and happiness moving forward.’

Bridges married Hirschi — who works as a photographer, designer and event planner — on September 25, 2022 in a small ceremony held in Beverly Hills with only around 40 guests, followed by a reception nearby at the restaurant Il Cielo.

The couple reportedly hit it off after meeting on a dating app nine months earlier, and they got engaged six months after they started dating.

The couple’s blended marriage included children from previous relationships.

Bridges has a 27-year-old son, Spencir, whom he shares with his first wife, Dori Smith. The two were married from 1998 to 2012.

He also has an older daughter, 29-year-old Bo, from a previous relationship.

Hirschi entered into the marriage with four children of her own from a previous relationship.

Her website states that she was previously a guest on the Martha Stewart Show, and her work has been featured in Real Simple, O, Redbook, Allure, Parents, Family Circle and Health.

Hirschi has over 20 years of experience in writing, editing and design, blogging, photography, prop styling, set decorating, event planning and publicity.

The budding star also runs the lifestyle and parenting blog Paging Supermom.

He now holds the morbid distinction of being the only member of the primary cast who is still living.

Gary Coleman, who played Arnold Jackson, died in Utah in 2010 at 42.

Dana Plato, who starred as Kimberly Drummond, died in 1999 at 34 in Oklahoma.

The series’ lead adult actor, Conrad Bain, died in 2013 at 89 in Livermore, California, and Charlotte Rae died in 2018 at 92 in Los Angeles.

Bridges is also known for a recurring role as Monk on the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris.
