The difficult moment is captured on the documentary with Kargman saying: ‘And with the Oscar, it’s hard when you lose. The last thing you want is a camera in your face with someone asking you how it feels to lose? So we decided to tell that through the lens of Diane’s friends. We were able to document their hurt because boy, they were rooting for her.’
Warren added: ‘It would be great to win the competitive Oscar, which has eluded me.
‘But, if I had to choose between winning a competitive Oscar one time and never getting nominated again, I’d choose to get nominated again and never winning. I love to keep getting nominated. It’s awesome.’
Appearing on Larry King in 2016, Warren slated Smith’s win saying ‘everybody thought’ she would win ‘including me.’
‘That Sam Smith song from James Bond that no one really heard, You know, I think it was shocking to him as well.
‘I mean, I don’t mean no one heard it. I think the fact is, my song is kind of, it had such a life of its own, and I think it’ll last a long time.’
Becky G took to the Oscars stage on Sunday to perform The Fire Inside – but the song was beaten to the punch.
