During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Dev spoke about filming during the COVID-19 pandemic and how ‘everything that could’ve gone wrong went wrong.’

He told host Jimmy Fallon that he broke his hand while shooting an intense action scene.
‘In the first action scene, I’m basically a crash-test dummy and my costar is using my face to break every piece of porcelain in this bathroom. And my hand, I heard it snap and I was like, ‘This is not good,” Dev recalled, as transcribed by PEOPLE.
‘You’ve got 450 people on an island and if I go down, the film goes down. I told my producer, ‘Don’t say anything. Let’s just keep filming.’
‘By the end of the day my hand was like an elephant’s foot. We couldn’t afford to put a cast on and VFX it out of this movie,’ he said.
Dev explained that the COVID-19 protocols made it extremely difficult to seek medical attention and that he ended up taking a private medical jet to Jakarta, Indonesia, where he finally saw a doctor.
He had to get a screw in his hand and the doctor warned him to keep weight off the injury or he could ‘ruin your bone.’
But Dev admitted to Fallon that he was back to performing stunts the very next day.
‘I went back to set the next day and was throwing myself and bouncing off a window.’
