Internationally, the film earned an additional $106.9 million, bringing global profits, so far, to $229.5 million, according to The Numbers.
In second place was Inside Out 2, which pulled in an estimated $30 million over the weekend.
The Disney/Pixar animated comedy starring the voices of Amy Poehler and Maya Hawke, helped rejuvenate the flagging box office when it was released over the Father’s Day weekend in June.
