Denise Richards Calls for Ex Aaron Phypers and His 84-Year-Old Mom to Testify in Divorce Abuse Case

Denise Richards has requested that her estranged husband Aaron Phypers and his mother testify about her physical abuse allegations against him at an upcoming court hearing.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 54, has a hearing coming up on Monday, regarding turning her temporary restraining order against Phypers, 52, into a permanent one, amid their ugly divorce.

And on her witness list, Richards has listed Aaron and his mother, Patricia Phypers, 84, as witnesses, according to TMZ.

Richards stated that Patricia will ‘testify regarding communications with [Denise] regarding abuse perpetrated on [Denise] by [Aaron].’

She estimates that Phypers’ mother will spend an hour on the witness stand.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Richards’ representatives for comment.

Richards expects that her own testimony will last around six hours, and her estranged husband’s will take about four hours.

An insider close to Richards’ ex branded her a ‘liar’ in a statement to TMZ and said: ‘Why wouldn’t he testify … he’s got nothing to hide … he never laid a hand on her.’

The source added that Phypers filed for divorce after Denise made multiple promises to end an alleged yearlong affair.

Richards is planning to testify to ‘all facts pertaining to domestic violence perpetrated by’ Aaron according to Us Weekly.

She also plans to call three unidentified witnesses.

Phypers filed for divorce in July, after six years of marriage, listing July 4 as the official date of separation.

The filing cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the breakup.

In court documents obtained by DailyMail.com in July — which included graphic photos of Richards with a black eye — it was revealed that on July 16, Richards filed for protection, accusing Phypers of horrific abuse that allegedly spanned their entire relationship.

‘Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages,’ Denise stated in her Request for Domestic Violence Retraining Order.

She also alleged that ‘Aaron regularly threatened to ‘break my jaw’ and would cry, beg me to stay, and promise to get help — none of which ever happened.’

She claimed, ‘Aaron has caused me at least three concussions. Aaron has told me that he has left recording devices to record me while I was alone in hotel rooms and at my townhouses.’

Phypers has vehemently denied the allegations, telling Daily Mail: ‘Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone.’

‘These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue.’

Last month Richards reportedly claimed the home she once shared with Phypers was ‘severely damaged’ by her estranged husband and his family.

The Bravo star submitted photos of the Calabasas mansion allegedly left ‘in disarray’ as evidence into her ongoing divorce from Aaron, according to Us Weekly, which obtained the images.

‘Aaron and his parents and brother have severely damaged the [home] and left the house in a state of disarray,’ the outlet reports Denise saying.

Speaking to Us Weekly, a source close to Phypers denied Richards’ claims. The source further alleged the family had actually heavily cleared up the residence in the time since Denise vacated the home in 2023.

The photos shown to the court depicted various rooms with clutter strewn about.

Earlier last month Richards filed to temporarily vacate Phypers and his family from their leased Calabasas home.

In her legal filing obtained by People, Richards asked the judge to order her ex, his mother, father, and brother out of the home for eight hours so she can retrieve her dogs and belongings.

Aaron was home on August 3 when Denise arrived to their home unannounced to retrieve her dog, according TMZ. He immediately left due to concern over the restraining order, the website adds.

Phypers’ parents let Richards inside and it was claimed she ‘barged in, demanded the dog’ and ‘screamed at his parents that they needed to get out of the house, putting her finger in their faces.’

Richards was seen being questioned by three Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies outside the home after they were called following her arrival, with police concluding ‘there was no crime committed and no arrests were made.’

Aaron – who has ‘no income’ – filed for divorce from Richards on July 7 after six years of marriage and requested spousal support of around $105K/month.

The ex-couple originally began dating in December 2017 before Aaron’s divorce from Desperate Housewives alum Nicollette Sheridan was finalized in 2018.

They wed in 2018.
