Demi Moore gave a moving speech as she accepted her first Golden Globe win for her critically-acclaimed performance in the body horror film, The Substance.
The actress, 62 – who looked ageless as she walked the glamorous red carpet ahead of the main ceremony – became emotional as she clutched the statue in her hand after winning Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Her daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, were also filmed reacting to their mother garnering her first major acting award since starting her career in the 1980s.
After stepping onto the stage, Moore was greeted by applause from the celebrity guests and admitted, ‘Wow, I really wasn’t expecting that.’
‘I’m just in shock right now. I’ve been doing this a long time, like over 45 years and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor.’
‘I’m just so humbled and so grateful,’ she added before recalling how a producer had once called her a ‘popcorn actress’ in the past.

Moore said that at the time, she felt ‘this wasn’t something that I was allowed to have, that I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged.’
‘And I bought in, and I believed that, and that corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it, maybe I was complete, maybe I’ve done what I was supposed to do.’
She recalled, ‘And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out of the box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance, and the universe told me that you’re not done.’
Demi then gave a special shout out to the director, Coralie Fargeat, ‘for trusting me, to step in and play this woman.’
She also thanked her co-star, Margaret Qualley, for ‘looking out for me’ as well as ‘all the people who stood by me, especially the people who believed in me when I haven’t believed in myself.’
Towards the end of her touching speech, the Ghost actress added, ‘I’ll just leave you with one thing.’
‘That I think this movie is imparting is in those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough, or basically just not enough.’

Rumer, Scout and Tallulah could be seen sitting on the floor of a spacious living room along with other close family friends while looking at a TV.
The group remained quiet as they awaited for the presenters on stage to announce the winner of Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
