The actresses lead graphic thriler The Substance which is released worldwide next month, following its Cannes Film Festival premiere in Spring.
Demi, 61, plays aging celebrity fitness instructor Elisabeth Sparkle who takes an experimental substance intended to transform her into a younger and improved version of herself.
Margaret, 29, plays Sue, the young woman Elisabeth metamorphosizes into.
The film has been met by rave reviews and received a 13-minute standing ovation at its Cannes premiere in May.
It has also hit the headlines as screen icon Demi take part in a full-frontal nudity scene, alongside Margaret.
She previously revealed to Variety that the scenes were easier to perform with her co-star by her side.
Demi is naked in a scene where Margaret’s character is ‘birthed’ – which shows the older actress examining her body before Margaret emerges and looks at her own physique in a full-frontal scene.
Demi explained: ‘I had someone who was a great partner who I felt very safe with. We obviously were quite close — naked — and we also got a lot of levity in those moments at how absurd those certain situations were’.
