Declan Donnelly has splashed a whopping £2.25million on the property next door to his West London home after it fell into disrepair.
The television presenter, 48, has invested vast sums in his £7million pile in Chiswick, adding a cinema, swimming pool, steam room and poolside kitchen.
The property alongside I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! host Dec’s home, which was converted into flats, had become an ‘eyesore’ and he and his wife Ali, 45, have bought it to spruce it up.
Dec and Ali purchased the neighbouring property in December 2022 in the name of their trust, Ludlow Trust Company Limited.
They have applied to their local authority, the London Borough of Hounslow for planning permission to build a single storey rear extension and carry out internal alterations.

The building was previously made up of five flats which were being rented privately but over the years it fell into disrepair and was considered an eye sore compared to other homes located on the tree lined road where Dec lives.
The building has been boarded up and planning notices have been posted outside. Minor work has already started and a skip filled with rubble is situated in the front garden.
One local resident said: ‘This is a very smart and exclusive area. For most people this property wouldn’t be considered an eyesore, but it is around here.
‘Dec has spent a lot of money on his home and you can understand why he doesn’t want to be living next door to a shabby property.’
It is unclear whether Dec will keep the property once the work is complete or if he will sell it on.
A source told The Sun: ‘The street Dec lives in is very swanky and lined with large detached houses and his place is one of the most impressive mansions there.
‘But other neighbours have taken less care of their properties and the one bang next door to Dec had been allowed to become a bit of an eyesore.
‘Most people would have to live with seeing it go to rack and ruin but Dec has taken the initiative and snapped it up when it came on the market.
‘The front has already been secured and boarded up ready for the rebuild and the planning application has gone in. And if it’s a patch on Dec’s place when it’s done, it’ll be a terrific investment.’
Dec and his television presenting partner Ant McPartlin, 48, were left red-faced earlier this month after an old clip of them singing Eternal Love resurfaced.

Before their appointment on primetime TV, the presenters shot to fame as PJ and Duncan after starring in Newcastle-based CBBC drama, Byker Grove.
Following their successful stint on the show, Ant and Dec, both 48, performed together using the names of their characters from the series.
A video of them performing the track on This Morning in 1994 has now gone viral, with fans of the pair branding it a ‘difficult watch’.
The clip didn’t go unnoticed by Ant and Dec themselves, who commented: ‘Hahahaha!! It’s a more difficult watch for us.’
In the clip, the Saturday Night Takeaway hosts were dressed in long-sleeved tops with baggy jeans and trainers.
Their casual outfits were a far cry from their typically polished appearances recognisable to fans today.
They belted out the lyrics to Eternal Love, which included lines such as: ‘Back in the days when we first met // those time we had I’m never gonna forget.’
Along with the cringe-worthy lyrics, they also busted some questionable moves, as one fan joked on Instagram: ‘The necks were necking’.

Fans of the double act found the video hilarious, including fellow presenter Stacey Dooley, who commented: ‘I’ve watched approx 100 times.’
However another person admitted they struggled to watch more than six seconds.
A third joked: ‘Never let it be said that they haven’t worked for what they’ve got.’

A different person said: ‘Ant and Dec – who are they!? I think you’ll find this is PJ and Duncan – last seen around the Grove in Byker.’
