Deborra-Lee Furness Calls Out Hugh Jackman on Instagram

Deborra-Lee Furness has appeared to take a swipe at her ex-husband  on Instagram.   

Last month, Scandal star  took to the social media app to promote her new series Imperfect Woman, when Furness chimed in. 

'You cannot trust ANYBODY... EVER,' Washington wrote in her post. 

'HILARIOUS... so true,' 70-year-old Furness responded in the comments section, perhaps referencing her highly-publicized divorce.

Fans left dozens of thumb's up and smiley face emojis in support of the Shame actress.

Jackman and Furness announced their separation in September 2023, ending 27 years of marriage and they  

The former couple met on the set of the Australian TV series Correlli in 1995 and married on 11 April 1996. They adopted their son, Oscar, now 25, in 2000, and their daughter, Ava, 20, in 2005.

Meanwhile, Jackman, 57, has already moved on with 51-year-old Broadway actress and singer .

Last year, Furness issued a statement discussing the emotional impact of the split.

'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It's a profound wound that cuts deep,' she shared.

Furness added: 'However, I believe in a higher power and that God or the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working for us.

'That belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.'

, a source claimed Jackman was 'blindsided' by his ex's comments and 'extremely disappointed,' alleging there had been 'an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press'.  

She is reportedly being encouraged to 'start dating again'.

The actress is said to be open to finding love again, but she's not rushing into another relationship.

A source told Woman's Day magazine: 'Deb is finally starting to heal and talk about what she wants in her life going forward.

'She's got an incredible support system that's been there every step of the way, helping her to pick up the pieces of her life. They are encouraging her to start dating again.'

It's said while the star has been getting offers from some 'incredible guys,' she won't be tempted to settle. The source added: 'She knows what she brings to the table.'

According to People, online court records from New York's Suffolk County Supreme Court show that a judgment of divorce was filed on June 12, 2025.

When Furness filed for divorce from the X-Men actor, she indicated the terms were uncontested and would only need a sign-off from a judge.

It was revealed days after the filing that the pair had begun to separate their shared assets.

In September 2023, they confirmed their separation in a joint statement shared with People, saying: 'Our family has been and always will be our highest priority.

'We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.

'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.'
