at the helm of the big night is a stellar presenting team, with Davina and AJ joined by Alison Hammond , Rylan Clark , Jonathan Ross , Alesha Dixon , Joel Dommett and Tom Allen.
The TV marathon will see some of the biggest shows on the BBC taking part in side-splitting sketches including Strictly Come Dancing, Gladiators, Not Going Out and Beyond Paradise.
Meanwhile, one of the most hotly anticipated musical reunions in history is set to occur, and fans have been warned that it’s Definitely (Maybe) not to be missed!
And host Davina was quick to share her excitement ahead of the event, remarking: ‘I’ve done a lot of Red Nose Days, but every single time I host, it is the best night ever. It’s a feeling of everybody coming together for such a positive cause, but at the same time having such fun and a laugh.
‘I love everybody that works at and for Comic Relief, but I also know that the audience comes with such goodwill and great energy. It’s just the best night ever. I really, really love it.’
On being part of the Comic Relief legacy, she added: ‘The thing I love about Comic Relief is that it works with so many different charities, and its reach is so wide, and it goes to the places that need money the most. I feel extremely privileged in my life, and to be able to give back in some way means a lot, but to be able to do it with a charity that I trust and respect so much means everything.’
Chatting about her fellow presenters, Davina shared: ‘I mean, the presenters this year are amazing. I love the idea that it’s like a big gang of us, and backstage is always very encouraging and warm and funny, but on stage is always quite anarchic. You just kind of never quite know what’s going to happen.
‘But because they’re all so good, you know that even when it goes completely off-piste and everybody goes bonkers, that everybody knows how to pick up again and keep the show going.
‘I love that feeling of uncertainty, not quite sure ever what’s going to happen, how anything’s going to pan out. It’s very exciting.’

Meanwhile, Jonathan said of his co-stars: ‘It’s a brilliant group. Over the years, Red Nose Day has evolved from a few presenters doing the whole show to a much bigger lineup with guest appearances.
‘I’ve worked with most of them – Joel, Davina, Alison, Rylan – and was even on The Chase with AJ, though she let us down by pressing the button too late! The show is more organised now than in the past, but I hope there’s still plenty of spontaneity. That unpredictability and energy are what make it special.’
And the Masked Singer judge has pinpopinted Alison as the one who’ll be keeping everyone laughing backstage.
He quipped: ‘Even with so many comedians around, I think Alison Hammond will be the biggest source of laughter. She’s like a human dynamo – I’m looking forward to hearing her infectious laugh echoing through the corridors.’
Meanwhile, Alison told how she was thrilled to be presenting the show, after being asked to do so by Comic Relief co-founder Lenny Henry.

She said: ‘I think I got a little leg up this year because I interviewed Sir Lenny Henry and he said, “I’d love you to present the show. I’d love you to get involved.” And I was like, “Do you know what? I’ve wanted to do this for years.”
‘So when he said that, I thought “Absolutely, I’d love to present it.” It was a no-brainer for me, and I feel over the moon that they said yes. I’ve watched the show every year and I love the concept, using comedy to raise money for charities. So it’s an absolute honour, and I feel like it’s been a long time coming so I’m thrilled!’
On being part of the shw’s 40 year legacy, she went on: ‘Oh, it’s huge. Like I said, I’ve supported it since the beginning. For 40 years, I’ve watched it religiously every single year. I absolutely love the show.
‘What they do is incredible, and the causes they support are amazing. I love watching the films where they show what’s been achieved and the people they’ve helped and of course I want to help. You’ve got to do your bit for charity!’
Red Nose Day returns live on Friday 21 March on BBC One, BBC Two and iPlayer from 7pm.
