Darius McCrary Arrested Near US-Mexico Border on Felony Warrant

One of the stars of the beloved sitcom Family Matters has found himself in serious legal trouble.

Actor Darius McCrary, best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the hit series from 1989 to 1998 alongside Jaleel White, Reginald VelJohnson, and Jo Marie Payton, was arrested near the U.S.-Mexico border in California and is currently being held in a San Diego jail, per TMZ.

According to online records, the 48-year-old was taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol on Sunday on what’s being described as a fugitive arrest tied to an out-of-state felony charge. 

The California Penal Code section cited in the case typically applies to individuals wanted in another state for a serious offense, according to the outlet. 

Daily Mail has reached out to McCrary’s reps for comment.

Details surrounding the alleged crime remain unclear, but this isn’t McCrary’s first run-in with the law.

The actor was previously arrested in 2015 and again in 2023 for failing to pay child support.

McCrary’s legal issues stem from his contentious split with ex-wife Tammy Brawner, finalized in 2019 after a two-year court battle. 

As part of their divorce agreement, the actor was ordered to pay $1,366 per month in child support.
