Rugby star Danny Cipriani is reportedly set to hold talks with Strictly Come Dancing to join the lineup for the new series.
The retired sportsman had previously competed on the show’s Christmas Special in 2023, and sources now claim that bosses are hopeful that they can sign him for the main show.
A source told The Sun that Danny impressed bosses with his footwork when he competed on the festival show with pro Jowita Pryzstal, and is due to fly in from the US for a meeting with producers.
The source said: ‘Danny proved he had the moves in the one-off special and Strictly would love to have him back.
‘It was an experience he enjoyed and Danny’s family and friends have been pushing him to say yes.

‘Danny’s got Bear Hunt on Netflix out next year so he’s free and able to take part. He’s coming back to the UK for a face-to-face meeting.’

Danny previously raised eyebrows with his sizzling chemistry with pro Jowita when they appeared in Strictly’s Christmas Special, receiving an impressive score of 37 out of 40.
At the time the sportsman had just split from his wife Victoria after two years of marriage, and he and Jowita looked visibly cosy as they competed on the BBC show.
In one Instagram post, Danny gave a special mention to Jowita writing: ‘Special thanks to @jowitaprzystal for always making it fun… Strictly eve❤️.’
Sources claimed the pair would spend many hours together during two weeks of rehearsals before their performance.
An insider said: ‘BBC bosses must have had some idea it would be a sizzling pairing on the dancefloor, but on a personal level probably didn’t expect them to get so close, so soon.
‘They join a long line of stars and pros who’ve found themselves growing closer as a result of long, intimate sessions in the rehearsal studio.’

‘She’s having a few financial problems because of the Mercedes that is in his name.

She wrote on Instagram in November in another now-deleted post: ‘Danny publicly announced our split without any prior notice or discussion with me.
‘I was made aware of the situation at the same time as the public, and this has caused me a great deal of pain. I apologise if my reactions and responses have seemed reactive or emotionally charged.
‘The truth is, I am still going through a difficult time, and it is challenging for me to see Danny speaking about our separation publicly while I have not yet found the strength to process it, adjust or heal.’
A source in their inner circle and close to the couple revealed that up until the summer, all had been well in the marriage.
But the source added: ‘Victoria had been increasingly unhappy over the last few months. Things got tense and then she saw some text messages on his phone and it led to some difficult rows between them and they have now split up.’
