Dan Reynolds gushed about his nearly two-year relationship with actress, Minka Kelly, and sweetly said they’ve been ‘attached at the hip’ since their romance began.
The Imagine Dragons frontman, 36 – who finalized his divorce from Aja Volkman a few months earlier – opened up about dating the Friday Night Lights star, 44, and also got candid about the early days of their romance.
During a recent interview with People, the singer recalled being connected to Kelly through a mutual friend.
‘After about a month we met in person, and ever since then, we’ve been attached at the hip. Minka and I are in a really happy, healthy relationship,’ he expressed to the outlet.
In regards to their successful relationship, Reynolds gave credit to ‘really great therapists,’ and also discussed Minka’s bond with his children.

Dan was married to Aja Volkman from 2011 until the pair announced their split over 10 years later in 2022.
Earlier this year in March, their divorce was finalized and the former couple agreed to share custody of their four children: Arrow, 11, twins Gia and Coco, seven, and Valentine, four.
‘The kids really love Minka and really love their mom, and that’s okay. We view it as kind of bonuses to the family: more people to love, more people to help.’
The Radioactive hitmaker continued, ‘We’ve just been really careful with that and slow with navigating how to bring Minka in to that conversation.’
‘She’s done a really incredible job of being sensitive and careful on her end as well,’ Reynolds added of the Euphoria actress.
The performer also opened up about how both he and Kelly formed a strong connection before they met in person – revealing he initially shared songs from his band’s new album, Loom.
Minka soon offered to share snippets of her emotional memoir, Tell Me Everything, where she wrote about her past toxic relationships and traumatic upbringing.

‘She was very scared for me to read the book because we hadn’t met, just as much as I was scared for her to hear a song that I’d written.’
‘But we shared it and then it ended up being a really beautiful thing and brought us a lot closer. I think it helped us both kind of understand each other on a deeper level quite quickly,’ Dan expressed.
After he began showing songs from his latest album, Loom, Reynolds was able to offer his thoughts on drafts of Tell Me Everything – which was released last year in May 2023.
‘It was a really strange and awesome way to meet someone because I was hearing all her life stories from youth to now, and she had a really hard, colorful, beautiful life.’
He continued, ‘Getting to read it all before you even meet somebody…I’ve never had that kind of introduction to someone.’
Dan and Minka were first romantically linked in November 2022 when they were spotted at a restaurant in Los Angeles.
Two months earlier in September, the Thunder hitmaker and Volkman announced their separation.
While also talking to People, he opened up about his divorce from Aja and stated that there has, ‘never been a moment of anger between the two of us – just hurt.’

Dan also stated that Volkman is an ‘incredible co-parent’ as they both continue to focus on raising their four children post-divorce.

Since being linked, both Reynolds and Kelly have been spotted on various occasions, such as attending the Super Bowl earlier this year in February.
And most recently, the lovebirds made an appearance at the UFC 303 event in Las Vegas late last month in June.
‘Minka and Dan are so in love . Things are going amazing for them both,’ a source told Us Weekly last year in June.
The pair’s romance ‘started out slowly’ but added that they have ‘gotten much more serious’ over time.
The insider explained that the singer and ‘Minka spend as much of their free time together as possible. When they can’t be together, oftentimes they’re texting, FaceTiming and calling each other.’
Close pals of the couple also ‘think they’re adorable’ with the source adding, ‘It’s clear they have an amazing connection.’
Later this month on July 30, Reynolds is set to kick off the Imagine Dragons Loom Tour in Camden, New Jersey in support of their sixth studio album, Loom, which dropped on June 28.

Other stops include Toronto, St. Louis, Tampa, Dallas, Salt Lake City and Denver. The tour is slated to conclude with four dates in Los Angeles – and the final concert will place on October 27.
