Former Neighbours star Daniel MacPherson is making a comeback to the world of live television.
The actor, 43, is set to become a part of the Channel 7 team for the upcoming Spring Racing Carnival coverage, commencing with this Saturday’s Caulfield Guineas.
‘I’ve been an owner for many years and have no regrets. I’m doing a bit of everything, it’s the perfect way to start the spring,’ he said.
Prior to this new gig, MacPherson served as the host of the live show Dancing With the Stars but left the role in 2014 to fully dedicate himself to his acting career.
Since that time, he has taken on various roles in film, television, and even graced the Melbourne stage in 2:22: A Ghost Story alongside Ruby Rose, who recently returned from Hollywood.

The former Neighbours star, told The Daily telegraph he felt incredibly fortunate to see eye-to-eye with fellow actor Zoe when it came to raising their three-year-old son Austin
Daniel and Zoe share a son, Austin Xavier, three, (pictured) who was born in December 2019. They have chosen to keep their child out of the public eye and did not even announce Zoe was pregnant
‘I’ve got a wonderful relationship with Austin’s mum. We do a lot of stuff together as well as individually. It’s so special,’ he said.
‘He’s healthy, and he loves his mum and dadda – and his mum and I look at each other and know we’re doing it right.’
Daniel, who recently debuted his new relationship with House Rules star Jessica Dover, also reflected on how far he’s come over the past few years.
He mentioned how he struggled managing his divorce, single parenthood, moving back to Australia after a decade in the USA, Covid lockdowns and having to step up as the eldest sibling in his family.
‘So having been through – I wouldn’t say a baptism of fire, but just being through the blast furnace in many areas of my life for a couple of years – to come out the other side took every ounce of mental strength,’ he admitted.
Daniel went Instagram official with his new girlfriend Jessica in April.

Jessica confirmed the news by sharing a series of photos to Instagram to mark Dan’s 43rd birthday. ‘Happy Birthday @danmacpherson. Adore you,’ she wrote in the caption.
Daniel reposted Jessica’s tribute and also shared a picture of the model standing by the ocean alongside the text: ‘Birthday visitor.’
The new romance came two years after Dan split from Zoe in December 2020, following five years of marriage.
The former couple shared almost identically worded posts on Instagram at the time, revealing they had mutually decided to separate.
