Dame Donna Langley to Receive BAFTA Academy Fellowship

Dame Donna Langley, Chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment, is set to receive the BAFTA Fellowship at the EE BAFTA Film Awards.

The award is the Academy's highest honour, recognising an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, games or television. 

Donna, 58, who has long been an advocate for emerging filmmakers and showrunners, became the first British woman to run a major Hollywood studio after she relocated to Los Angeles from the UK with no industry contacts. 

She now oversees creative strategy, business operations, production, acquisitions, marketing, and distribution across NBCUniversal entertainment programming.

This year's BAFTA'a ceremony will take place on Sunday February 22 at the Royal Festival Hall in London's Southbank Centre and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The Fellowship Award will be presented to Donna for her transformative leadership in the face of rapid change and disruption, sustained commitment to inclusion and pipeline building.

Donna said: 'It is an incredible honour to be chosen as this year's recipient of the BAFTA Fellowship. 

'As a Brit, to be recognised by my home country, by my peers and fellow colleagues in the industry, is an absolute privilege.

Previous recipients include Dame Helen Mirren and Sir Ridley Scott, with Warwick Davis winning the award last year at the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards.

Donna was named a Dame Commander of the British Empire in the 2020 New Years Honours for her services to film and entertainment.

Alan Cumming will host this year's EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026 as he takes the reins from Doctor Who star David Tennant.  

The glamorous affair, which celebrates the year's best films and their creative talent, will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer, as well as Britbox in the US and Australia. 

The EE BAFTA Film Awards encompass 25 competitive categories, which are decided by BAFTA voting members.

BAFTA continues to represent the UK's largest film, games, and TV voting body with almost 14,000 creative practitioners working across the screen industries from all corners of the UK and internationally.

Round one of voting for the Film Awards opened on December 5, 2025.

The February 2025 ceremony attracted an average of 3 million viewers on the BBC One broadcast alongside over 64 million video views across BAFTA's social platforms.
