Weatherfield has always been shameless in the spurious circumstances it creates to feature men with their tops off.
We’ve been treated to a smorgasbord of rippling muscles recently, what with Aadi’s affair with Courtney and Ryan posting pics online.
After losing his temper in a confrontation with Gav in the precinct, Ryan confesses to Daisy that he’s been abusing steroids and that now it’s time to stop lying online and show his scarred face before closing his account (oh no! What’s a girl to do?).
Popping round to praise Ryan’s bravery (that old chestnut), Daisy gives Ryan a peck on the cheek that turns into a passionate kiss. How far will they go, and what will happen when Daniel comes knocking at the door?
Is the great double act that is Todd and George on the road to reconciliation?

When Todd winds up George, calling his tall new assistant ‘Lurch’, George takes umbrage.
But Paul tells George that Todd recommended Shuttleworth’s undertakers rather than his current firm, Rest Easy, for Shelly’s funeral, and George asks Todd to return. Please let his answer be yes.
They are such a funny pairing, and let’s hope that now the serial killings have come to an end (farewell, Stephen; bizarrely, you will be greatly missed), the show finds other ways to keep the corpses coming through Shuttleworth’s door.
How much longer must we be subjected to Ed’s conversations about money? A lot longer, it seems, when his credit card is declined in the café. In the café? How much does anyone ever manage to spend in there?
Having lost his job, Michael asks Ed for his investment money back, which is another worry for Ed as he doesn’t have it. Surely Ed must be first in line for the Rovers refurbishment job, as he’s the only builder within 100 miles.
Mind you, who in their right mind would employ him? The entrance he allegedly widened for Paul’s wheelchair looked narrower after he’d finished than when he began.

The Panesars are the new Carters, with offshoots of the family springing up everywhere. Now another member has arrived – Avani, daughter of Priya and Ravi, who the latter had no idea existed.
She’s another shock arrival, who Ravi discovers in the flat where Nugget has been hiding.
Given the ever-expanding family, I think we can at least rule out Ravi as the Christmas corpse; the show wouldn’t introduce a daughter, only to have Daddy snatched away.
Meanwhile, Rocky is in dire financial straits. His first plan is to fill the house with rent-paying fairm-ly. That’s going to end well. Not.
Inviting Ian, Cindy and Peter for lunch, he lies and tells them it’s because Kaffy wants to bury the hatchet. Bury it in their backs, more like.
When it becomes clear that Rocky’s plan is actually to win the Beales round so they can move back into No 45, the peace talks descend into chaos. More gravy, anyone?

Mealtimes with the Beales never end well in EastEnders, as Brian Conley (Rocky) discovered when filming Monday’s lunch scene. ‘I lost one of my teeth,’ he says.
‘When I pulled my fork out I accidentally bit into it and broke one of my teeth, but I carried on and the others could hear me crunching. I had to pretend the quiche was lovely. Obviously it wasn’t, but I was making an effort.’
Dangerous stuff, this showbiz lark.
EMMERDALE
Will Sam dole out his own brand of justice?
Sam has been struggling big time in the aftermath of Lydia’s rape and is angry when the police tell him Craig has been released, pending investigation. Do those muppets at the station ever get anything right?
Small wonder the locals look to other means to get justice, and will Cain’s support encourage Sam to do precisely that?
Oh dear. It’s not always a good idea having Cain on your side. There are usually only two places any scenario involving him end up: a jail cell or a car boot.

For the moment, Sam’s acting rationally (that never lasts with a Dingle), and when Lydia returns from her counselling session Sam is full of sympathy, proving that their love is strong.
There are so many skeletons rattling round in closets this week, the cast might as well just break into a chorus of ‘Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones’ and have done with it.
Over dinner, Caleb and Amit size each other up, as Nicky and Suni look on nervously, praying that certain things will not come out.
Caleb is intrigued when Nicky later hints at Amit having skeletons in his closet. It’s a veritable morgue.
